Phil finds a way to make me think that Grief Scam is valid counterplay.
@gustavowadaslopes24797 ай бұрын
Yeah. My thought when he lost was "You know what, that's fair". Given, that probably means the deck wants to main-deck leyline of sanctity.
@Cheerwine0917 ай бұрын
@@gustavowadaslopes2479While it’s probably still correct to main-deck it, it can shut off self-thoughtseize hands, meaning in edge-case scenarios you’ll end up with a leyline that you don’t put onto the battlefield

@@Cheerwine091 It doesn't shut those. It gives you hexproof. Not Shroud.

my problem is more how if you happen to not bring paper to rock, you lose regardless of what your game plan was.

Timeless really is just legacy but now theres very little free interaction to stop your opponent's turn one combo! People who hate on force of will this is what happens without it in a format with high power cards. Seriously though i feel like best of threes is far more viable for timeless than best of ones because at least you get a sideboard for leylines and other targeted silver bullets

the feeling when reanimating an annihilator 2 creature feels more honest than reanimating grief
@Scrimshaw_DuBois426 ай бұрын
4:40 In the Grief game, you might have been able to win. Grief's discard trigger isn't a may, so if they decided to cast Ephemerate off rebound, they'd have to target the Breaker. Then if you drew any reanimation spell you'd be in a decent spot. A very slim chance, but it was there

The funny thing is that you don't even need a discard outlet. Turn 1 pass to go and discard your big creature, then turn 2 drop a swamp to Reanimate, or Dark Ritual into Persist. You won't have haste, but it was baller enough just taking the first turn off without doing dredge shenanigans.
