Lost in a Labyrinth + Crookclaw... most convoluted way to kill a creature ever. :P But it's okay, that Deadeye + Venser lock was sick and had to be undone.
@animeexpresscon5 жыл бұрын
Sure, but he had the mana to simply flicker venser in response and cause the trigger to fizzle. I'm not sure if Marcus was trying to play politics by letting it die or if it was a play mistake...

@@animeexpresscon "In response to the soulbond trigger"
@DarkEinherjar5 жыл бұрын
Here's the thing: Soulbond itself is a triggered ability, which means it has to go to the stack and resolve before both creatures are granted its benefits. When Venser flickers, Soulbond triggers again and needs to resolve before Venser can be flickered again. Pat responded to the Soulbond trigger by killing Venser, at which point he didn't have the flicker ability and was defenseless. This is the biggest risk of using Deadeye Navigator: a well-timed instant-speed removal can always put an end to his shenanigans.
@animeexpresscon5 жыл бұрын
@@DarkEinherjar Ahh, that makes sense. I forgot that they both have to be paired for either of them to get the ability, so instant speed removal will always stop those shenanigans.

For all current and future comments asking why Pat was able to cast instants despite Teferi being on the battlefield: People, pay attention to the plays: Pat used Will's +2 ability targeting Teferi, which turned him into a 0/3 creature WITH NO ABILITIES! That means everyone was free to cast their instants until Pat's next turn. Also, another question that was asked a few times: Urza's Ruinous Blast CAN'T HIT LANDS, and Dryad Arbor IS A LAND. And it was Don who cast the Blast, and he had Daxos on the field.
