Wonderful production! Thank you. I've always loved the Allegheny steam engines since seeing the mammoth itself at the Henry Ford Institute in Greenfield Village.

Nice C&O layout ! Reminds me of Lou Schultz's layout which had over 70 steam engines and many H-8's. Layout was operated from about 1999 to 2015. It's on KZbin. These new H-8's are amazing. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you! The layout is at the Lansing Model Railroad Club in Lansing, Michigan. It's loosely based on Michigan Railroads such as the C&O.

Do you ever have problems with the rear coupler. i have not switched them from the original mth ones but it seems like every time i get a train with 10 -15 cars the rear coupler fails.

I’ve heavily upgraded my C&O hopper fleet since this was filmed. Not sure how many cars I have, but It’s a pretty sizable consist and I’ve never had a problem with the coupler. If I were in your situation I would just switch to a Kadee coupler.

Nice, but you'd pull your train apart leaving the yard with loads. As an engineer you have to think about what your entire train is doing. ease out of that yard, stretching the slack out of your train. it takes skill to lift heavy trains. and Yes, I'm a real engineer.

I agree. Real engineer here too. :-)

As with ALL MTH, the gap between engine and tender is WAY TOO MUCH...! Somebody needs to tell them, HO doesn't have to be that way...!
