Info on MTM: MTM Enterprises was an American independent production company established in 1969 by Mary Tyler Moore and her then-husband Grant Tinker to produce The Mary Tyler Moore Show for CBS. The name for the production company was drawn from Moore's initials. The cat's name was Mimsie.

Date corrections as of 9th April 2024: The first MTM Television Distribution logo was used from 1986-98. The MTM TV Distribution logo with the chef hat counts as the second one, and was used from around 1992 to 1995.

Being the crazy cat lady that I am, I adore Mimsie! I've started re-watching my "Mary Tyler Moore" DVD's, and I will NEVER skip ending credits, just because I love seeing that little ginger baby and her sweet little "meow!" I love the variants, too. My favorites are the original (of course), Extra Squeaky Mimsie (the second one in the video), "QUIET!", The St. Elsewhere scrubs, Mimsie catching the baseball, Mimsie rubbing up with the other cat and they're both purring, the "Mimsie Chorus" (I forgot the name of the show!) and Mimsie wearing Steve Allen's glasses and going "Schmuuuuuck!" My favorite non-Mimsie's were Mary Tyler Moore imitating Porky Pig, and the "White Shadow" cat playing basketball. Thank you for not including the final St. Elsewhere Mimsie. I know she died that same year, but what kind of tribute was THAT to her?! But I love the regular St. Elsewhere Mimsie (a kitten wearing surgical scrubs? Yes please!)

I know the one from the St Elsewhere finally wasn’t included but you have to give credit to the MTM team for using such a creative ending logo. Probably my favorite because it summed up the show and Mimsie (who died the same year) so well

I liked the one where Julie Kavner (voice of Marge Simpson) went "Wow!", Carlton going, "Come on, meow. Damn cat...", Mimsie wearing a ball cap and catching the ball, one of the St. Elsewhere variants where Mimsie meowed differently than how she'd normally meow, a choir singing the "meow" when Mimsie meowed, Mimsie wearing the chef's hat, Mimsie saying "Tchau!" (which was on Xuxa), and MTM Home Video where Mimsie rewinds the tape. P.S. - Many thanks for omitting the St. Elsewhere series finale variant, that one is saddening to me because I love cats and animals in general.

Was I the only one that was terrified of this as a kid? The font against the black background (something about the 2 red M's I guess?) struck me as very ominous and the cat's meow at the end felt like some odd harbinger of doom. It sounds so silly reading what I just typed that I can't rationally explain it, but I can still recall that fear even though I can watch all these reps of it now. Of all the 'scary' logos from back then though that people make compilation videos about now, nothing got to me more than this.
