you are a really humble guy, love the part when you talk about having more fun and pursuing knowlege instead of just good grades. keep up the good work.

I knew this option of using photoshop for frame by frame animation, but you made the workflow so much more enjoyable! Thank a million!
@ginchieng9 жыл бұрын
thanks :) your videos are so educational and fun to watch.. when you said when we're in school we're all focused on grades and not for the fun of making things, i think you're totally spot on. thanks so much for putting these awesome tutorials! please keep up the great work!
@stevihall810310 жыл бұрын
That was awesome. I really appreciate that point you made about actually learning the material in school and enjoying it, instead of only focusing on making a grade bc being able to apply what youve learned is what is most important. Thanks this was really helpful!

Thank you for all these amazing tutorials, as someone who just started learning after effects and cinema 4d i have skyrocketed past some of the more experienced students in my class because of you. I really appreciate all of your teachings! Much better than my motion teacher and more fun, keep up the awesome work!

I usually don't look for Photoshop tutorial, and even when I do, I never really watch it til the end.. But this tutorial, just, BLOW ME AWAY. I never really thought of using Photoshop to produce animations, and to think how such simple, seemingly messy (haha) small details can produce such an authentic and amazing animation... just stunning! I feel truly inspired and cannot thank you enough :) I'm preparing my portfolio for university, and if possible, I will definitely try out this method and give you a link to it ;D Ahhhh you made my day, thank you so much!

I've seeing your videos for a while now, and I never understood why you'd spend your time uploading free tutorials. I'm happy that you talked about it in this video :) It's nice to know that there's people out there who just want to help others. Said before and I'll say it again: YOU ROCK.

New subscriber here! Just found you today through a recommendation on Reddit. This is the second video of yours I've watched. I've always wondered about this photoshop animation tool and now I am so pumped to put it to work! Thank you so much for making this! And for making it easy to understand!! I love me some keyboard shortcuts.
@jordansbryant9 жыл бұрын
Hey Matt! First, thank you SO much for your summits, they are a daily go-to for me and have helped me a ton! I love this tutorial and I wanted to let you know that you actually CAN set a keyboard shortcut for Duplicate Frame. Go to Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts and set the popup menu to Application Menus. Twirl down the Layer line and scroll down to Timeline. There you should see a line for Duplicate Frame. (Full disclosure: I'm using a cracked version of PS CS6 (not the extended version) at home and it does not have this feature, nor does it have video layers, so this may not work for everyone, but it could work for some. Thanks again!

Hey Matt! This is fantastic, I had been using an app called Pencil 2d for animation, but the brushes there suck and it's outdated, you are a life saver man! On the school learning vs grades, I feel you, the teacher is also a big factor. Fun class = better learning! I loved my animation class, the teacher kept it fresh, we did digital, stop motion, traditional, bunch of stuff (5 years ago, wow I'm old!).

Hey Mat, thanks for sharing your coolness and skills with us, I just realised that by saving my PSD file, and import straight into AE I have much more control on the animation, in fact I can always modify my photoshop file, if I am not happy with it, save it and AE automatically will update any change. I just wanted to share this with all of you, I hope it will help.

Hey! Don't know if anyone said this already, and it might be kinda late and you might know of this now... but if you click on the timeline options menu (same place where you enable Loop Playback or Enable Onion Skins) there's an option that says "Enable Timeline Shortcut Keys"... this allows you to use the arrow keys left and right to navigate the timeline without having to use Command+Control+X.
