9:42 so 8/9 carriage hst and 225 London to Leeds services are now 5 carriages only sometimes? That’s progress isn’t it.

Usually, double 5-car class-800s formations are a sign of the service merger/separation at some point. With LNER, I think that it's just a case that their predecessors at Virgin Trains bought some five-car units for lower-numbers services. However, I haven't seen a 5-car LNER service on any of these sorts of videos since late 2019, they've all been 9-car single unit or 10-car double-unit formations.

Wakefield Westgate also gets Crosscountry services to Leeds from either Sheffield or Doncaster
