Mtunzini mouth was the 1st deep sea fishing trip for me-one of many to follow. The only problem was sand banks [time before cyclone Domoina many years ago. Friend Joseph Nair just took delivery of a new Trimcraft ski boat and when the skipper did not pitch up, Charles Matthee decided to take the controls since he did go out with someone else before. Needless to say, when the commercial fishermen turned back , there must have been a reason. It was neap tide and we got stuck on sand banks and the waves eventually just turned us upside down-and we eventually washed out on the northern bank. We had to wait for the tide to turn before a Samaritan and his sons towed us into the lake with his landrover-what a story. Moral of the story-firnd out from the locals where the channels are, have the right equipment on board and most NB-An experienced skipper. I later on bought my 1st boat, a 14'6 Stinger from Z Craft with 2x25 Yamahas and had lot's of fun for many years and many other hulls-keep it up. Thanks for the post
