Not only a phenomenal, though under-rated talent, but also a very nice guy. He genuinely was sweet and humble. Still miss ya, Ronno, after all of these years. R.I.P. with your buddies David and Trevor for eternity. :-)

I know a few people from Hull, and I can hear the accent distinctly in Mick: 'werk for work', 'knoah' for 'know' etc. He seemed such a gentle, humble chap. Real rockstar hair and looks. I love the clips of him playing his lake placid blue Telecaster. Such a robust player. I've heard Steve Jones of the Pistols citing him as his fave guitarist. An amazing musician

I loved Mick Ronson...I saw him when he toured with Ian Hunter...I always felt he always yielded his ego to the creative process and the music...He made have been the most genuine person in a cut throat industry.

Ron Flores .......yes he did but what blows me away is his lesser-known work with so many and varied artists throughout his too-short time here. A nice example (I think) is to this day, John Mellencamp credits Mick’s arrangement for the success of his (JM’s) early hit Jack and Dianne. I always thought Ronno’s solo work was better than acknowledged too. Everything from his beautiful work with early Elton John (check Madman Across The Water) through to The Rolling Thunder Revue with Dylan, Mick was always special. Shame we lose all the best ones too soon. RIP Mick Ronson.

I am now getting to the age that all my Rock 'n' Roll heroes had when they passed away. Mick Ronson, Rory Gallagher... and I realize how fucking young they still were. And I miss the old and still good MTV where music and musicians have been the center of the broadcasting. I am sure they would have had at least half a day playing only Soundgarden, Temple of the Dog, Audioslave and Chris Cornell related stuff when he died...

I still remember the first time I heard the the introduction of Space Oddity. Incredible, completely unique. The chords of 'All the young dudes' are some of the most endearing in my mind. Bowie had to break up the band 'cause the kids would kill the man.

I STILL say that the Rolling Stones SHOULD have grabbed Ronno when the irreplaceable Mick Taylor quit the group in 12/74. Mott The Hoople had just broken up, Ronno was available (read Bill Wyman's "Rolling With The Stones"), but the Stones stupidly chose R Woodpecker. So...yeah, "Once Bitten Twice Shy" and the brilliant "We Got To Get Out Of Here" might not have ever seen the light of day...but then, by the same token, I do not think that Ronno would have allowed that eternal POS "Miss You" to ever get much further than "Brenda" Jagger's hangover. Still - You are sorely missed, Ronno. And your song "Colour Me" kind of helps me deal with multiple sclerosis every day. I'm sure "as you floated in space....there WAS a smile on your face."

Also: Steve Blame. What a way to start a decade. We lost more in the 90ies than we regained. Well, we regained the likes of Sonic Youth and Neil Young, but it's not quite a replacement. Here's to Ronno!

What a diamond. Totally selfless. These guys had to get by on next to nothing before becoming well known. A shame that in recent years so much stuff is manufactured with little real talent. This guy lived for music and not self glorification.

Coming from Hull I can tell you that Ronnos facial features are instantly recognisable as someone from this area. Almost ferrety and angular, there are hundreds of smack heads in this area who look like that but sadly cant play the guitar like he could. If you dont believe me then come to Hull and be aghast at the striking similarity of the local population. Must have been a lot of inbreeding a few hundred years ago.
