She was ON FIRE during the MLIYL era. 🤩 More playful, funny and relaxed than she had been, but still an absolute QUEEN of the industry. Her music was cool, fresh and interesting, and the fashion she was wearing matched it. Her voice, although post prime, was still in fierce form and suiting the material she was doing very well indeed. Everything just gelled and made for a legendary album and a legendary tour. Probably her last great world tour actually. People who got to attend are lucky indeed!

even though she had lost the vocal power she had during Bodyguard era she still had an incredible agility and versatility in her voice to transcend the notes, truly unmatched.
@BEASTMRFANCLUB1012 ай бұрын
I can kinda see why yall liked that era bc it was diva Whitney getting her life back together starting a new era fashion most chilliest era for her but folks always forget the I’m your baby tonight era before body guard was just like this era in 1999 the only difference is she was dancing while singing sharp notes LIVE and same studio vocals every time if not higher while DANCING ill never forget the Japan and Tokyo concerts in full body suits dancing her ass off while being a fashion nesta
@soundseeker632 ай бұрын
@@BEASTMRFANCLUB101 IYBT era was incredible, vocally speaking. But I personally perferred her material after this point - IYBT tour was still mostly just pop and ballads with the occasional old standard thrown in. By MLIYL she had a much more diverse body of work from which to draw and that made the shows more interesting and dynamic in my opinion.

during these times she had a problem in 1998 her mom staged an intervention to force her to go to rehab, at that time it was new to her mom, so Whitney convinced her to talk her out of it... her personality changed drastically during 1996-2002 in my opinion. still deeply in love with her. rip nip.
@I-AM-BELIEVER Жыл бұрын
You’re wrong on all levels. Cissy always knew Whitney was on drugs prior to this and had known for years. Secondly, Whitney’s personality has always been like this. This is just the side you all just started to see. She was very guarded, respectful and held back in interviews. It wasn’t until later that she felt comfortable to be herself and not care what others thought. Unfortunately her being herself always associated with her being under the influence when she wasn’t at times.
@Dedicated2WendyWilliams Жыл бұрын
@@I-AM-BELIEVER uh no, the younger years of her life and occasionally indulging is EVERY young adults' phase in life. her personality had not always been life this. and it would be ridiculous to say that every single time she did a interview or was on camera she was high (prior to 1996), no where near realistic. and no, its not the side we "started to see", I believe the stress of bobby made her into a different person. she was tired, she was "coping". did that all the way thru till 2005. I understand Whitneys situation with bobby because I was in a relationship life that. I did drugs occasionally to try to mask pain and try to stay happy, but evidently doesn't work. because the real problems always come back in full swing. there had to be a different alternative. Whitney on the other hand was rich & had money plus unlimited drugs availible (a few less things to worry about). Truthfully it does take drastic life occurrences to cause an extreme alteration of our personalities and to change and shape the way we end up becoming. a good man/wife can enhance a better healthier individual. in Whitneys case it was the severe toxic opposite.
@I-AM-BELIEVER Жыл бұрын
@@Dedicated2WendyWilliams I will say she was stressed more but it wasn’t all Bobby. It was the media as well. Her last name was Brown, and they continuously addressed him as Houston. You don’t do that to any man. It’s actually downgrading him into a woman almost like he was the wife. I agree she was affected by the drugs like anyone would be. But the majority of what you see is who she really was. We can agree to disagree on this. I met Whitney when I was a child during IYBT era when I was taken to a concert of hers with family. I can still remember she literally had alcohol drinking backstage to relax in a can. She was lovely and classy but she was a round a way type of personality. It was day and night what you saw and what you witnessed. Everyone who known her longer than you and I always said she was like this. Based off what I seen, what others seen and proof of what she became comfortable with being, i’ll go with she was always like this. I respect your opinion but please speak on things you know. Whitney has always been like this. Her using might have been some affect but she literally wasn’t like this every single day. If you go back to the days before Bobby you can study and see many similarities of her wanting to break away from her princess image and also her personality creeping out. Go watch her behind the scenes where she made those statements about Paula Abdul and Cissy had to console her. The only reason why y’all don’t want to accept this side is cause you refuse to give up the fact that Whitney wasn’t a princess and squeaky clean how they made her out to be. Again we can agree to disagree. I literally know Pat Houston through family. ATL is only 2 hours away from me. I met Whitney as a child and again on other occasions through the years before and after Bobby and her married. Trust me this is a nicer version of Whitney even what you see. She was really way different not in a bad way but more bold with what she says. If you know you know.
