Looks like a really fun martial art to practice ! I agree that maybe not all the techniques are of practical use, but there are a lot of good techniques there.

@etagged well intercepting isnt just about stopping the punch its about stopping the attackers movement and countering from there...but then again not everyone trains 24/7

I really like all these Muay Boran techniques and videos. It seems like a lot of these defenses are counting on the opponent to over-commit too much; however, I'm sure that's just for demonstration sake. I wouldn't want to fight a practitioner of this style!

The moment I realized I don't fight or stab like this is when I've become a master in my own right.
@DumbEraser13 жыл бұрын
@etagged Definitely. That's a good point. I think (what my Master thought me) that exactly this is necessary. Doesn't even matter about Style or Art. If you do it at least for being able to defend yourself on the streets, you'll gonna need to give, even get punch or kick. Moreover it makes you harder and that's advantage..

15,0000 technique still record in Khmer history story of how to fight or combat with the opponent, from lay down on the grown to fully stand up combat.
Some movements would not work in a real situation, but most of them are so injurious. I like too much the use of elbows and knees, they have a good conciousness and use of their body, specially the first one.
@etagged12 жыл бұрын
You learn to counter-punch/kick, which is really the only option. Watch any pro fight, boxing, muay thai, or otherwise the fighters always block and counter-punch.

@pepehorhae it helps to be.... but its all timing speed motion and learning how to move roll twist and how to push through when you do strike. there is way more to it but thats the basics practically for all fighting styles. Learning how to stay cool and keep your calm is the hard part.

Its funny how people say its usefull for movies but if you ever fought someone useing it u wouldn't walk away. i personly use this style as well as a couple others. That guy was probaly only useing a tenth of his speed if that. But needless to say this fighting style is very powerful and extremely dangoerus so a well minded person wouldn't use it in a street fight

@scarred10 i am sorry that i was hostile before,well i believe that some of these techniques can be used in sparring or in the ring by this person if you see some lumpinee title fights from the 90s that some techniques which you would thought that are impossible to use are used with explosive results etc chatchai namkabuan karuhat veerapol koban samson i san sakmongol samart jongsanan somluck legends like them could do everything in the ring...
@etagged13 жыл бұрын
I don't like martial arts that teach you to intercept blows... it will work for the occasional street fight but what's gonna happen when you fight someone who knows how to punch? His strikes will be too fast to catch.
