This projector has "4K Support". It does not output at 4K, but it does have the ability to downsample it and display at 1080p. Based off tests people have done, this usually gives you a sharper image compared to native 1080p.

Like anything else in tech, im glad everything is starting to get more and more affordable. I remember back in the 90s the cheapest dim projector was like 1k, lol. Might get this for my son's birthday since all he has is a small tv. Great review Eric!

Pretty cool that is has dolby audio, im sure getting that included couldn't have been cheap for them. Dont need another projector but this looks like a good mid-entry level one.

It honestly just depends on how you plan to use it. Not everyone wants / needs a higher end projector

So it can accept / play 4k content, but it'll be downscaled and outputted in 1080p

But 4k input, although downscaled to 1080p, will still be sharper then normal 1080p input. So, while you won’t experience 4k (which is usually in the thousands of dollars for a decent one), you will see much more clarity and detail and better overall image!
