Worth mentioning the context behind this clip - this was a live-streamed recital I gave last summer of the complete Ysaÿe violin sonata cycle almost immediately after getting off a transatlantic flight after having performed at the G7 summit held in Charlevoix, QC, Canada. So in a way, probably the craziest thing I ever did. Good memories.

Sure after a certain echelon all pros give a minimum world class standard. What draws me back to this artist is the lack of settling for anything less than every bit of potential in every phrase. Pair it with this technique and that's a legend in the making. Like he mentions flying 5+ hours and performing is no man feat and I think it speaks to his personal character and conviction. Bravo maestro

Wonderful! You have a great understanding of these monumental works and the rare ability to realize what you want to do. Don't be influenced by PR hype..just keep on your unique and special path. I cannot think of any players living today who i would rather hear play Ysaye. Bravo..Superb!!
