@@MuchProps thank you! I’m fascinated by this stuff and had never really taken an interest in it until a few weeks ago. Now it seems all I watch are tutorials! Quick question on cutting the arrows for my pattern. So when I lay the pattern flat, wherever it naturally wants to bow upwards that’s where I cut my arrow out so the foam will curve properly? That part confuses me

Thomas what temp do you use on your heat gun to warm up the foam? And is it higher for what the foam?
@MuchProps3 жыл бұрын
Mine starts in on 650 and I just leave it at that. For what the foam I usually turn it up 100 more. It does take a little longer
@scottrod19834 жыл бұрын
How do you determine what thickness of foam to use and how does the thickness affect the size of the final piece? Love your videos!!
@MuchProps4 жыл бұрын
I determine it by what I need from the shape. If it has lots of curves, I use 4 or 6 mm. If it needs to be more sturdy or spans a bigger distance i use 8 to 10 mm. 2 mm for me, is mostly detail work and foam over 10 mm is usually used for carving in my videos.

Great video really helps alot but I get confused on where to place cuts on more complex shapes. Also are you going to upload the patterns you made in this video the helmet look exceptional useful as a base.
@MuchProps4 жыл бұрын
When I post the videos for each of those builds, I will attach the templates. For more complex shaped templates, you would add a line on any sharp angle or deep recess. Like for a eye socket you would trace along the brow and over the cheekbone to make a circle. Then on the inside of that you would draw the shape of you eye.
