That is great! Do you remember what you thought about it then? If so, how does it compare to what you think about it now?

@@futurespast-42 When I first read it in '63, it was just another story, so I did not really think much about it. It is better the second time around and being the only story at the time for a full day. The idea of biologically modifying humans was the shiny new thing in science fiction. That had an effect on a dream I had about 4 years ago. I was drking something just a bit to warm so I was drinking it slowly from a small mug. I looked like cocoa with bits of marshamllw and orang blobs and tasted like chocolate with an orangy flavor. What it would do was begin a process of gelatinizing my body while keeping the organs intact.. I would then be put into the control area and hooked up to a large walking vehicle and sent to the solid core of Jupiter as part of a search party for something. The idea being that if my body were flat and gelatinous, the massive gravity of Jupiter would be less destrucitve

You know, if you look closely elsewhere on the channel, you might just find out. :)

Very neat story but they would have to control the market like they do with diamonds and that's just evil

Also, would have to find a way of reproducing the eggs without stealing them from a wild animal. When this was written, it was still acceptable to have elephant tusks and ivory in your home not to mention the heads and fur of tigers and bears.

Back in the day, the business ethics were maybe not as developed (i.e. regulated) as today, or rather, they could get away with much more and therefore did it with impunity? Even so, I'm sure there are many modern examples of exploitation all over the world. And they are all bad.
