To me something that stood out before this mod was how the setup of the levels meant you couldn't go to places most associated with certain playable characters (specifically Lisa couldn't go to the School, Homer couldn't go to moe's and Apu couldn't go to the Kwik-E Mart) this mod (assuming a means to get access to the other characters is available, or at least can be implemented) finally fixes that.

Its an amazing idea but I think alot of the map textures were coloured deliberately for their level so it'd be alot of work

Only a shame this doesn't work with the missions, but that seems to be underway. Even modifying missions to make use of the much bigger map. It'd certainly be interesting if, while looking for Bart, Lisa actually checked around the stadium he disappeared from.

If only this is how the game was after you complete it. Casually cruise through each level. I would love to see a mod where each character’s driving music plays while you’re in that level. Also put Legitimate Business in that mod as well. As you drive by the car wash and Moe’s Tavern that track starts playing. So chill. Best track in the game.

I've seen a few videos on this already and it still hasn't gotten old. I've that same sense of wonder you've expressed here. 😁 I especially love how organic it feels to drive from landmark to landmark. Back when I used to play _Road Rage,_ I was disppointed that the maps - while fun in their own right - felt like they were just recognisable places from the show plopped in no real structure. Upon _Hit & Run's_ release, I was amazed by the improvement, but still wanted... well, _this._ Everything feels like it's in its proper place. I'd love to see some creativity with the missions like we've seen in the Donut Mod. Fun vid! Keep it up! 😁

A mod that remakes levels 1 and 2 has recently been released and it uses this map! Since Sunset and Night variations are being worked on too, the mod wil get updated after those variations come out!

What Remake needs aside Apu's new voice actor (Karan Soni maybe?) & Full Connected Map. Taking inspiration from Spider-Man game: * Missions: Restart old missions; New Game+; able to restart bonus missions * Post-Mission Menus: Character Select (unlocked in Level 7 mission); Forecast (Winter act as post-story unlock) ** Map Storyline Bases follows availability of Mr. Burns' mansions & forecasts: Act 1 (Lv. 1 - 3); Act 2 (Lv. 4 - 6); Act 3 (Lv. 7 + NEW Lv. 2 & 3 variant) * Map Menu * Updated Missions to make the storyline sense. Some could be either revamped or/& re-arranged

I was watching the whole video and had to laugh at 9:11 (the timestamp, not the day on the Gregorian calendar) because how you pronounced "fantastic" was EXACTLY like the Ninth Doctor (Christopher Eccleston) from Doctor Who 🇬🇧 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿. I still have The Simpsons Hit & Run on a disc (full game and everything, even has some of my own mods in it as well: I created a model pedestrian based off of GTA 3's two gangs - The Leone Mafia and The LC Triads). 😎 I'm downloading this tonight, and I'm adding it to the game (I'm adding a screenshot of the map and crediting you Muckluck and Colou). It is a theological way of improving the game play, but only the start. Until a dedicated studio, the original game players or EA decides to produce another brand new Simpson game based on Hit & Run or a Hit & Run, Remaster or Sequal, I would begin importing Custom characters/cars or Multiplayer Mod. Perhaps transitioning from one to another characters similar to Lego Star Wars. But let's explore whatever plans they have for this Mod in the Meantime!!

I'm guessing they didn't do that due to technical limitations. This could be done in a remaster.

I agree with NotMyRealName. There are probably a lot of reasons why they couldn't. They also might not have even thought of a full map as an idea. But since the PS2, Xbox, and GameCube is on older hardware it's possible that the consoles might not have been able to handle the games and such.

How did you use the debug cam, What setting/mod for the launcher?

I used this forum thread to help me - forum.donutteam.com/forum/topic/2855 But basically it's go into Options from the main menu, hold F1 and press down, down, down, up on the arrow keys. It says you should hear a horn sound but I never do, it still seems to work though! Then when you go into Options > Settings > Camera, Debug Cam should be an option :)
