Looking great mate nice to see the family getting stuck in again, I've just brought the kreg 5 pocket hole jig they are expensive but so much quicker than having to keep clamping the small jig to the work piece keep up the good work. 👍

Cheers Davy, we do that in the summer but I don't have the storage in the workshop to store them long enough 😭🌞 in the summer they dry very quickly don't they. Need a bigger workshop 🤣🤔🤔🤔

I buy new scaffolding boards, only a tenner each. Saves all the clean up bud. Lovely job, look great as a TV unit too.

Cheers mate, my only concern with new boards is they are generally very moisture content heavy and the reclaimed are pretty dry.

@@karlpopewoodcraft I always have a few drying in advance of projects, so hopefully by the time I use them they’ve got to a decent dryness. Then re-stock accordingly.

Hi Karl, great video. I'm actually looking at making a tv stand for our garden room as I can't find anything that will cover the sockets (electrician put them in at 52cm high and most tv units are around 40-50cm high so they remain visible). Your design (without the top detail) would be perfect and to my own measurements. Thanks for the inspiration and tutorial. I'll let you know how I get on! Karen

Oh, I'd not considered the extra filth and detritus to harm your tools on old boards! If you had the space, it would be worth stocking up on new ones and rack them to dry them to furniture grade so they're ready when needed. Also requires spare money as well as space :)

Great project for those trying to sell their work locally, and easy to offer in multiple sizes; thumbs up for the plan! Like the dark wax finish. (Do you make your own?) And would it help to pressure wash the scaffold boards first? I have not tried to put any through good tools. BTW, I enjoyed watching. Interesting to include your family. I also liked the speed of the video. Well done. I actually had to pause and change the playback speed to .75 to understand your accent, lol, but even then, the speed of the video didn't suffer a bit or drag. Good production! Hope you get the subscribers you deserve!

Thanks mate that's really good feedback and much appreciated. We use fiddes wax sold here in the UK and as far as the plans Jakob is working hard at learning sketchup. We do pressure wash the scaffold boards in the summer but unfortunately they just won't dry in time in the winter and we are limited with storage space at the moment. Thanks again 😊

Absolutely agree about reclaimed scaff boards. For the extra cost its just worth buying new now. However, like you said, if the customer wants reclaimed, there is nowt you can do. Good work once again Team Pope.

Reclaimed pallet/scaffold projects are the pain of my life when making things, you know when you miss taking a nail out and run it through the table saw!
