You'll understand why they sent five props if you get into the logs and stumps 😂, from experience I suggest stick to mud and grass!! Otherwise you better have a stainless prop! My experience was three props for a quarter mile and done, but in really bad terrain 😂😂😂

How much did you give for that bad boy? That adjustment bracket that bolts to the transmission is called a Jack Plate you can get them so fancy that they have a motor that brings it up and down but not in and out the in-and-out part of it is always fixed on my Skeeter I had a 10 in Jack Plate and you got to kind of mess with them one turn of the bolt makes a difference. So to find that sweet spot you drive it all the way down and give its a four turns to bring it up and then you will notice the difference each time you stop and redo it. So as you're coming up with it you do Ford turns and then do it again for terms and then once it starts getting so bad then you start heading back down but only use two turns and you'll you'll be able to feel the difference it takes a couple of hours cuz you got to stop kill the motor Maybe give the Jack played a couple of turns tighten it back down excetera excetera excetera. But my point is it's called a Jack Plate

I totally dig the surface drives for their turning/gear ratio ability, but where I live I don't have to deal with a lot of vegetation, just the occasional super shallow rocky stretch of river. Which do you think is better for shallow water and ease of getting the prop up over obstacles? The long tail or the surface drive? I'm putting together a 1542 with 13hp for putting around little rivers/big creeks
