Muddy ride in Golden Colorado! Fat tire ebike Cyrusher Ranger

Out for a mid December ride in Golden Colorado. I've always thought I should check out these trails but never got around to it until now! Very fun trail system on South Table Mountain, but very muddy everywhere the sun doesn't hit directly. Lots of slipping and sliding but my semi bald fat tires did OK! Definitely ready for some new tires for the start of 2024!

Looks like you had some serious fun there. Some of those switchbacks on the climb, you have some skill to get round them. Does the switch to 46t on the front really help with the climbs, cheers for a great video.

Hi Andy, thanks for watching! Yes the 46t front ring is a huge improvement when it comes to steeper climbs like this, I dropped to that size ring( other people go smaller) because it still allows me to comfortably pedal at 30 mph. Cheers

Ranger Gen. 3 high-speed controller w/ rear tail light pigtail is the way to go . 31mph under throttle only .😊😊😊

Hi Tony, happy 2024! So, now that you've had time to do some riding with the newer version of the Ranger controller what do you think?

@@lifebehindbarz60 Cruises at 31-33 mph on throttle only ,good for crossing 55-70 mph highway. Of course at a higher discharge rate. Adds rear taillight/brake light. pedals faster in all pas levels.

@@tonysmith5507 Is the discharge rate change huge or just a little bit? If you rode the bike in a more conservative manner (or match the performance of the last controller) could you still get the same battery life and just have the increased performance when you really need it?

Under full throttle 35-38 miles . I only use pas 1 ,increased chain ring to 58t as 60t would interfere with swing arm. @230#, pas 1 gets 22-25mph, 60 miles on one battery. Best thing is no more 20mph on throttle .

Good video any after market purchases i could get as just ordered my cyrusher ranger maybe a battery cover while out in cold mud guards etc 😀

Hi Jimmy, I think you'll really like the Ranger. I have several upgrade videos and suggest doing as many of those changes as you can. With the cold weather coming I'd suggest the battery cover, definitely do the fork swap and drop the front chain ring to 46t. The rest is just personal taste stuff. I have several bikes but the Ranger is still by far my favorite. Cheers

Correct, the 52t is stock on the bike. It's a great gearing choice if you want to push the bike to 45mph without spinning out (very fun on big downhills). If your plan is just blasting around relatively flat ground then you'll probably like the 52. My riding is almost all in the mountains and I like a slightly lower gear ratio. The bike can still be pedaled comfortably at 30mph with the 46t.

Hi Darin, I love the ebikes off road, so much fun and I can keep a much higher average speed. Still an excellent work out too. For me it falls into a category somewhere between a regular mtn bike and a motorcycle. Cheers

@@lifebehindbarz60 Every time I was on a motorcycle I ended up off road and they weren't supposed to go off road;) I might be able to handle this one..
