I grew up in KC...both sides of State Line.. This song was written by 2 guys in New York who had never been there.. I took a train as a kid...The train station is fairly close to 12th st. and Vine... To see my idol Muddy do it is amazing.. We probably had a dozen or two of the same crazy women....from ol Kansas City, Mo.....

Witajcie fanki i fani bluesa z całego świata. Pozdrawiam z Polski.

@@vincepetrovic8700 No headliners or any other pleasures there. It's not Satan's Kingdom - it's his Death Row - and of those he cheated there. He's the most wile cheat of an advertiser: he's selling real estate from a prison, the one where he's gonna end up too - just his mouth is open yet to sweet talk… just 'a few' more. He's going down, but not before he has wrecked havoc upon as many as he can.

@Marco Evans Nothing well in Hell. The prisoner number one selling folks holiday resorts from a prison of Death Row Only on his way there. Sweet talking of course - how else would people buy it. Do you think it would sell if he told the real state of things? Like a used cars sales man pimps the rides to look appealing, is how he's handing out brochures of the 'luxury holiday' in Hell... And folks are hurrying there, like moths to flame. Creepy.

Typing this as I'm listening. Bouncier version than Wilbert's and just as wonderfully done. Skip beat on the drum is more prominent in this one. Muddy uses stop choruses where Wilbert doesn't. More soloing also. Definite distinction between rock 'n roll and blues versions.

Esto dice hoy el New York Times, entre otras cosas, sobre Pinetop Perkins: "His longevity as a performer was remarkable - all the more so considering his fondness for cigarettes and alcohol; by his own account he began smoking at age 9 and didn’t quit drinkin' until he was 82. Few people working in any popular art form have been as prolific in the ninth and tenth decades of their lives."

via Google Translate: "This theme was included in Muddy's repertoire of the late 70s, with the collaboration of Pinetop Perkins almost always, so that we have a few versions of it, both on disk and in video. This is the best, for my taste, thanks mainly to the superb harmony of Jerry Portnoy in third position (not the solos of Bob Margolin and Luther Johnson are snot of turkey, by the way). Warsaw, Poland, 1976."
