Stupid idea, just sow them straight into the ground, they'll grow quicker. My peas are in the ground and are flowering like mad and even the first pods on when I looked today.. I don't sow any seeds in April as is all in and growing well, will even harvest new spuds next week.Yes, I do and get fab germination, but make sure the ground is wet first, so day after rain is ideal, is same as soaking. Yes Hurst's Greenshaft is a very good pea and that is what I have in now with peas on.Just pulled the last of my carrots and won't have my new crop for about 2 weeks yet.Just put my toms out and now in flower. I pot on when first true leaf into 3.5" pots then plant out when first truss shows. Sowing to planting out is normally 7 weeks with me O dear and I was getting too hot checking my apple blossom to see how many had set and was 74 or 23 which ever you please, but was cooking last week at 33 or 92. now that is warm for April.Why don't you use the best and stopped been harassed by all these thickies that say peat is bad to use as runs out. NO it doesn't it is being made constantly from moorland vegitation rotting down. Klansman No 2 is ideal, have used in for donkeys and get excellent results with it and food, Maxicrop seaweed extract, perfect balance for all plants.
