Catch and Cook Pacific Oysters and Kina with Stef the Maori and Cody in Kerikeri

This week it's a Kerikeri harbor adventure with Steff the Maori and Cody. The plan is to gather a feed of fat creamy Pacific Oysters and a few fat kina to make a feast for some friends and family. Regardless of weather and tides there is always a way to catch or gather a feed of fresh seafood in this beautiful country. Hope yas all enjoy this episode and tight lines you champions.

They are at their peak right now up here because theyre very close to spawning bro. When the water in the harbor warms up a bit more they'll spawn and get skinny until the water cools down again.

Amazing. Couldnt you think of another way to get famous. I went to kerikeri recently to get oysters. Its been hammered to hell. There use to be giant pupus. I couldnt even find 1. Sad. 😢

Thousands and thousands of fat creamy oysters up there... I'm out to gather food with my friends with an end goal of feeding good people. Hopefully this inspires others to do the same for their families instead of buying it for the preposterous retail prices offered to us. I don't know where your looking but you need to look harder. Oysters are fast growing and extremely sustainable. Pacific oysters are not native to nz they are introduced and they thrive here. Find a better target mate. Oysters are absolutely 💯 on the menu.
