Hi nicola, that little brass oval is the escutcheon that keeps the wedge holding in a black powder barrel from pistol or musket. I fitted one last week on a restoration job iam doing. 100% sure. Great vid lots of lovely finds.. Stay safe.

Lots of other channels narrate their finds, then go on to talk about a button or pipe find for 5-10 minutes which I find boring, I’d just rather show the finds and the day out.

Seriously, why do you find so many marbles on your adventures? Is this a common find when mudlarking???? I plan on going on an adventure myself here in Colorado. I have no idea what I am going to find!
