Never a dull moment in skylarking! Trekking precariously through the jungle of undergrowth being one of them. And unexpected gifts, another. Then calamity with the camera, but well done for just getting on with it on your phone Caroline. Hope you can sort it with not too much expense and trouble. A smashing (pardon the unintended pun) bottles today, but I've got to confess that what took my breath away today was coming across those lovely poppy heads and the beautiful poppy. Nice bottles and the ridged jar the friendly digger’s left for you. That was so nice of them. Phil you scared me so much when you were trying to cross the river on those pieces of wood. If you did fall in no telling what was at the bottom. I don’t want to know now because you are safe. That was too close for me. Please don’t ever do that again! A great fun lark amongst the weeds. That hot battery was a bit of a worry but you rescued the lark using the phone. Great stuff😊best wishes to you both

The sticky plant is called Cleavers & has nice medicinal uses 😎

What type of medicinal ??? The last three years ,these plants have been growing all over everyone’s yard. They have become a nightmare. I first came across these plants at the lake a few years,.. now they have spawned like bunny rabbits. I also heard that they can be prepared like a tisane .

The sticky plant is called goosegrass

No. Google goosegrass. Goosegrass is Eleusine. It's edible & native to Asia, Africa & So. America. Cleavers is the sticky one. It's botanical name is Galium aparine.

Buddleia is native to China. I bought & grew 2 of different colors & dug them up and black bagged them. They are like candy to butterflies & have no nutritional value.

The sticky one i call Velcro weed. It was called Catchweed bedstraw because people lined their mattresses with it to kill insects like fleas and bedbug in the old days. I t is Cleavers & is native to North America. I find it in my backyard.

The Knotweed is native to Japan. It is often found on the beaches in Coastal Virginia.

Oh no. The battery melted!?!? Yikes. Hope you were able to get ot out without damaging your camera. That sticky weed is one of my favorites. Never a flea in our yard with that growing around. We've had a heatwave just break. Temps of 102 F which is unusual for New England. And we are getting a wave of covid. Take care🎉❤
