Good morning Matt! I think we all remember playing in the mud as kids and having so much fun! From Under the Surface you found a great piece of china with the eagle and stars. Also, the made in the USA in well!! Yes, a work of art!! I hope Red Truck guy finds information on his Native American pottery piece! Ugh, that was a horribly foggy day you had in the water! Stay well and warm out there…remember the buddy (Paul) system while in the fog!! ~Karin

Good day, from Florida! I love your Yankee engineering on your glove. I did that with a pair of boots I didn't want to part with in Ohio. The Indian pottery may have been from out west. They sold them at tourist traps and was a "thing" back in my hippie day.

The pot looks like an old Chinese stoneware ginger jar! It's hard to tell the size by the photos but that's what I think it is. I've seen similar finds from Mudlarkers in England.

Aaaaah, Interesting!, thanks so much for the info, will do further research.

Ooh! I was just thinking the same! Someone even said that it was usual for the jars having quite minimal blue decorations so that also matches. I was also thinking that I can’t really remember glazing being part of indigineous ceramics.

Hello Matt that clay pot the fisherman showed u was a Chinese ginger pot most likely from 1870s 1890s. Smaller ones were older then that. Hope this helps
@underthesurface44357 ай бұрын
Sure does, I sent him the info and he was very thankful. Thanks!
@marydegenkolb96037 ай бұрын
The fishermans' jar looks like an old Ginger Jar. Used to store ginger root for medicinal as well as spice. It is a common shape of jar for storage of various goods. I would suggest to contact any university near your location and see if the native peoples in your area used that type of storage. They (Universities) have much greater tools at their disposal like special lights that can show details of the designs.

Great idea, will do. Seems like the Ginger jar wins.

Your red clay jar screams Ginger jar the design seems Asian or Chinese, I believe one of the mudlarkers possible si-finds would know or Nichola white of tideline arts I know I have seen that in one of their videos! I love the cross wow awesome find! Very Beautiful! your odd shaped jar Is actually what inspired a first tattoo drawing someone commissioned me to do of a cat atop that shape as a fish bowl..odd I know but that exact same bottle a guy brought to me in 1982. That brought a smile to my face at the memory. :)

Oh my heavens😮. First Hi Matt. I own the collection of those four Franklin Mint Crosses. Ok I’m freaking out😮. There were four of them in the collection. I believe I bought them in 1996. I have huge windows, they are suction cupped to my windows. They came with suction cups and a little hook to hang them on. I can’t remember exactly what I paid for them nothing less than 17.99 nothing more than 29.99. There is ray of hope, white dove, Easter lilies flowers and the last one is mostly turquoise glass.They are all in many colors. I’m still freaking out😮 lol I can send you pictures if you want me too. Two are in mint condition ,two fell from window, didn’t break just a little crack and the black lead bent in the other. Otherwise, great video, you know German pottery would have eagles on them with stars. Just a thought to you at Under The Surface. Joyce❤️🙏🇺🇸 It could be even earlier than 1996, late 1980’s
