Same here. I just got it on PS now and am having a blast. I've played American Truck Simulator but this takes it to a different level with the physics and off road stuff.

Yeah, it's very effective. I've since come up with a new strategy that saves nearly 60 seconds off of this run, but I want to get my time down below 12 minutes before I post it.

Other than switching to auto shifting, why do you sometimes unlock the diffs?

In hardcore mode, there is a game mechanic where the vehicle will take damage if the diffs are locked while driving on a hard packed surface. Most often that means a proper roadway, but there are some areas on the route I drove where the ground is solid enough that you would take damage for having the diffs locked. Damage, depending on what system was effected (drivetrain, engine, etc.), can cause loss of performance, increased fuel consumption, traction issues, etc., so I tried to avoid it as much as possible during the run. Still took a point of damage from a random rock in the field though 😅

@@OhTrials Oh okay, I've found out myself what counts as a hard surface and it annoys me as on most "hard surfaces" the tires would just slip enough to prevent winding the drive train.

Hardcore mode brings out a bit more complexity in how the maps are tackled, definitely worth it though!

I had come up with a different strategy that would probably allow for a time in the 10 minute range with better execution, but never got around to doing attempts with it. This is a very beatable time though, for sure.

Make sure that when you reach the lumber mill to only have 4 logs loaded in the truck, and then "pack the load" to turn those 4 logs into a full load. If I remember correctly, the prompt to pack it will only show up if you have the crane nearly returned to center of the truck, and all 4 logs have a green circle on them to indicate they are in the truck bed. Sometimes a log that is too diagonal or slightly off he side of the truck will cause the game to assume it's not in the truck properly. Once you have packed the load, then you can deliver them to the lumber mill instantly provided you're in the designated area.

No, since it wasn't a bug. The idea would be that if you rolled your truck and lost the load, you could crane the logs back onto the truck and repack it anywhere. This speedrun just exploits that feature, plus the log limit of 12 small logs, to allow us to carry three unpacked loads at once.

@@OhTrials That's true you always need to be able to repack the logs in case of a tip over..didn't consider that. It's not that big of a deal it's not like you're forced to do that if you wanted to play it without the exploit you could just take 3 seperate loads. good to know!

I did it in 10 min although I had Der Gerätv7(KPA-Fuck the MUD), kinda like c-255 with ridiculous unrealistic upgrades that makes no sense

This was the least fun game I've played in a LONG time. Just got it for free on Epic megagames store and I want my money back

It's definitely not for everyone. I enjoy the series, but it's understandable that most people won't find it entertaining.
