Everybody talking about the "fakeout" I say a 40 second long fakeout isn't a fakeout anymore. Are we not allowed to have calmer sections that still use sounds from the drop?

I get what u mean but i think this is still a fakeout because it's a part of the drop. I think it's very smart for muerte to do this 40 sec fakeout because in dubstep, we have so much the culture of drops, like for example when eps comes with an intro song or something like that, people don't give a fuck, they just want the most brutal or cheeky or energetic drop they ever heard

And here this fakeout is so creative and well done because he keeps the build up sounds, with some new flows that he reused in the 3rd drop, the listener is non stop into something new (not like boring riddim fakeout like yvm3 echoes for example)

@@pvrsat8562 You said it in a more positive tone but that's exactly what I meant! Don't get me wrong, I think it sounds great and should be more normalized. Seems to me like the genre ended up so formulaic that people hear a whole bridge section that sounds a little like a fakeout and then refer to it as one. Muerte is helping to get dubstep out of the box!
