I was raised Christian but have move away from organized religion for the most part. Despite this I have found so much wisdom in this mans approach to life and outlooks on humanity. They mirror my own, and no offense to saying this, but I was surprised to find it in the Muslim faith. I love this beautiful man, no one is without fault, but he is genuinely sincere. Many of his teachings and habits come from following the teachings of our beloved prophet Muhammad. Though many do not, we as muslims are taught to emulate him because he is amongst the best of examples for mankind. Mufti Menk stands out because he actually follows sunnah and in a way relative to the times we live in he doesn’t play around and let religion out a false shadow over the world that’s always evolving, Yes I know as haram as one might think that is but change is from God so be mad at yourself if you can’t understand that concept and the blessing we have been rewarded to advance as humans and believers. Many muslims understand their faith through parrot fashion praying (just saying the words but not understanding what they are saying) and too many don’t know the life of Prophet Muhammad PBUH and how he was one with the world so a true believer can see that’s the ultimate way to be one with God, no prejudice, always helpful, always loving and caring. Not violent not aggressive, sense, self control, humility, not tyrannical not power hungry materialistic etc and after reading all this reflect on the Arab world and Muslim world and who is following the prophets peace unto them and who had creating their own version that fits their needs and fulfills there ego in the ever changing advancing world. *just something to think about I mean no offence I am a Moumin that’s well versed in Arab /Levantine Christianity and Islam from Saudi/Kuwait so these thoughts are from reading and experience, I didn’t invent these thoughts from a dream or trying to be creative.

I was raised protestant Christian, became agnostic at university and then became Catholic at the end of University and now im back to searching. COVID and a few other factors were very detrimental to my faith or i guess lack there of. Ive always had an interest in Islam but have been afraid to look more. Ive always said that if i become Muslim, it wont be because of those who use fear and violence but those who are understanding. I think Mufti Menk might break that berrier or at the very least, help me come back to the faith i used to have. His love for God and his witness is a blessing.
