my mother always told me to recite the entire rabighfirli which translates to "oh Allah forgive me and my parents and the believers the day the account is established" before making dua but most people i know were saying thats not obligatory, which left me in doubt that i was making dua the wrong way. now i understand why thanks to you may Allah bless you sir. also it also showed me that my mother always wants the best for me.

Thank you so much for this talk. You are so right how the devil wants us to believe that Allah won't forgive us. For a few years while struggling with my particular weakness, I did not pray, I didn't participate in Ramadan, etc, because I was too ashamed of myself and became lazy. However, a couple of months ago I finally got help for my weakness and almost immediately the desire to please Allah returned. Now to please Allah by doing my best to be a good Muslim, I am also pleasing myself. It feels so good to be forgiven and not feel too ashamed. I am so very thankful to Allah for this. I could have very easily died out there and almost did, but Allah was merciful. He has been ever-merciful and forgiving. Now, I am doing my best to walk the straight path and Allah does guide me because I allow Him to. I ask Him to. For me, it is a privilege to be Muslim. Thank you so much for your talks. They help me very much!
