6:28 Ichigo was already able to feel Aizen's reiatsu before his training in the Dangai, that's why he frozed when Aizen goes to the Soul Society and why Isshin knew that Ichigo could reach Aizen and that's why he told him about the Final Getsuga Tensho.

Aizen continued to evolve, I'm sure there is a point where to an ordinary Shinigami it would have appeared as though he has no Spiritual Pressure when in actual fact he transcended and his Spiritual Pressure can no longer be perceived by them. You're right Ichigo was an exception and was able to sense Aizen before, but I'm not sure if this would have proven to be true if Aizen continued to transcend# and started becoming more godlike. Dangai Ichigo surpassed Aizen from the get go, because Aizen assumed he had no Spiritual Pressure when he first appeared, proving that he was above Aizen, and had done enough in those 3 months to put a stop to him. If left unchecked I think Aizen would have continued evolving, thanks to the Hogyoku.

I think so too. He has a bit of a water themed motif about him, from what we've seen, so I think it may be Suigetsu or "Water Moon". Not like Aizen's Kyoka Suigetsu, but just Suigetsu. It could be the opposite of Isshin's, Engetsu, which has the kanji for "Fire" in it's name, fitting it as a fire based ability. Kazui's could have a water based ability. Just my thoughts.

The theme of sacrifice is meaningful be it Ichigo giving up his powers to defeat a god wannabe or his Shiba ancestors made outcasts for doing what's right and having no regrets. Ichigo is a true hero in the end.

After Mugetsu, Aizen was revived with his sword fused into his body, making it so that Kyouka suigetsu could be activated by just looking at any part of his body, since his body and his blade are one. Ichigo, while in Mugetsu form, also has no sword, and manifests his ''sword'' at will from his body. This is why Mugetsu was a tier above Aizen's hollow butterfly form, which was still in the ''sword fused with the hand'' stage of transcendence. Makes sense when you think about it.

With brave souls, other beyond bankai states were shown. Ichigo's was more comparable with dangai ichigo. So beyond bankai is trancendence for the "godly" shinigami, while ichigo had to go beyond even that to the point of litteraly being his sword. You could say that he was punished for that power by only being allowed one attack and then without the power to boot, broke with it (with the armor breaking, the hair dissappearing, etc.). However that form, for which he was punished, punished Aizen, who reached a similar trancended form just less powerful and more immortal.

My head cannon was the reason the Final Getsuga became a technique in the shiba clan was be cause all the other noble families took a part of the soul king even if they did lose some of them later so those clans probably got a lot stronger and this is how the shiba clan survived till it was kicked out of the noble clans.

I've just now noticed how Ichigo in his FGT (Final Getsuga Tenshou) form looks somewhat similar to Yhwach. Long black hair, red eyes and with the black reiatsu. The reason behind Ichigo's FGT form looking so similiar to Yhwach could either be that the FGT is a power that originates from the Soul king similiarly to Yhwach's The Almighty or it could just be that Ichigo's form takes it's apperance from both of his Zanpakuto spirits.

The data book stated that Ichigo becomes Zangetsu himself. And at that time, the role of zanpakuto was occupied by Yahweh. I guess that's why he became so similar to him.. While the real Zangetsu was suppressed. I guess if Ichigo used Mugetsu in the last arc, he would become more like a Real Zangetsu, that is, hollow.

Now, something we could point out is that, since Ichigo got back his powers, he would logically be capable to re-use FGT and Mugetsu once again seeing he should still possess the knowledge of the technique as well as now having accepted his Zanpakuto fully. While I don't think Kubo would re-use the concept again (since that would undermine the moment against Aizen in retrospect), he could theoretically have Ichigo readapt Mugetsu and the concept of GT in new techniques in the future Hell Arc without the weakness of losing his powers again.

In the battle, Aizen was going on about how a soul reapers zanpakotū final form beyond a bankai might be to fuse with it's user it some way. Ichigo was the first example we saw as he fused with Zangestu for Mugetsu. We sww another similar example with Hitsugaya in the battle with Gerard Valkyrie when he completes Hyōrinmaru and his body grows. Actually, now that I think about it Byakuya too has a sort of semi fusion with Senbonzakura when he performed Shūkei: Hakuteiken against Ichigo which like Ichigo's Mugetsu is a last resort attack with a huge down side. This videos really made me look at all the bankai's differently now.

Mugetsu would be a high tier threat at the end of the TYBW arc. He scales above one arm Yamamoto, everyone in the Zero Division, and the nerfed Yhawach (without the Almighty and the Mimihagi amp).

It makes so much more sense if Getsuga is a branch family genetic technique. Since Nejibana isn't a moon based Zanpakuto and cannot perform a GetsugaTensho which is from Kaien from the main family if the shiba clan. Nejibana doesn't have "getsu" in its name so it makes more sense.

Thank you for this video. I was confused about the meaning of Ichigo becoming Getsuga but your explanation clears it up. I wonder if Kubo will want to dive deep into the Shiba clan or the noble houses in general if he does want to continue the one-shot chapter. I feel that Hell and these noble houses are intricately linked though I'm not sure how. We know about the 4 noble families though only 2 are mentioned as well as lower houses like Kyoraku and Ukitake etc. My assumption is out of the 2 unknown noble families, one of them is in charge of Hell. After all the noble families are in charge of something important to Soul Society.

Bruh I'm so glad you clarified "The ABILITY mugetsu" because it legit annoyed me that people referred to the form itself as Mugetsu lmao. I made a post a while back on Twitter along the lines of Mugetsu being the highest level of Getsuga, and that it is as though Getsuga is effectively using itself in its greatest augmented state, so I'm stoked that you've backed this up! Also, I really like that FGT Ichigo, with his hair and eyes, resembles Yhwach Bach (or Zangetsu). Great video man, I'd reached the same conclusions as you so I appreciate this being out there.

I think this is similar to the Quincy final form. It's overwhelmingly powerful but has a massive cost as you'll lose all your powers in the process. After watching edit: your explanation actually makes perfect sense. It's a max power getsuga tencho that requires you to be merged with your zanpakuto. Also if zangetsu means moon slayer what does engetsu mean?

Aizen mentions while fighting Ichigo that fusing with your sword was the final step.During TYBW Aizen was already in a dangai state. Seeing that Aizen, Ichigo and his dad could learn this, i think it's safe to assume that it's the step after bankai for all soul reapers. Honestly, the Mugetsu reminds me of what happened Letz Steil with the extremely prevalent black reiatsu gathered around Ichigo's right arm, which is almost the exact same look (albeit with a completely different color scheme) as Uryu's Quincy technique.

U can explain final getsuga more logic like... . Hollowpowers and Quincy powers gets fused. Problem with that is Hollows are like a infection for Quincys and deadly. Its explained in TYBA.Thats very good to see after the usage of this power Getsugas appearance crumbles away like its getting unstable of a poison.

Ishiin still had shinigami powers (dormant due to suppressing white but still there) so I want to assume it's a technique passing down the Shiba clan since ishiin knew but clearly hasn't used it and knew ichigo would have it too, then there's the getsu termination to both their zanpakuto, makes sense to pass it down through the clan like the tsunayashiro clan passed down a zanpakuto

Ok so can we talk about how Isshin speaks of the FGT as if it's something that he's known how to do for a while now ("My Engetsu was the same way.") and how Isshin knows of Aizen and everything he's done and everything that's currently happening and (presumably) what will continue happening if he's allowed to go on, and yet instead of using the FGT himself he decides that his son, who doesn't even have the ability (yet), should be the one to do it?

Ichigo had the potential and could still feel Aizen after the crisalis, comparad to Isshin who was a captain and only recently got his full power back and still couldn't sense him, between the two, the one who could have had a shot with FGT would have been Ichigo and so he dragged him into the Dangai to train

I feel like this form was the strongest he could get with just his shinigami powers by becoming one with the zanpakuto, as his Vaste lord form was his most powerful form of his hollow powers, and his true shikai/Bankai was a perfected balance of All three powers, quincy, shinigami, & hollow.

So the final getsugatensho was the technique that the shiba ancestor was trying to do to replace the soul king. The white zangetsu is actually all his shinigami hollow and quincy power fused inside of him. No wonder he was in a plane above aizen. If aizen had quincy abilities he would have been on the same plane as ichigo. Anyway the final technique is somehow poetic, in orders to destroy someone else you need to destroy yourself first. Ichigo sacrificed all his powers in order to disintegrate aizen's hollow and shinigami powers.

From the point Ichigo accepted Zengetsu and became "dangai" Ichigo, was that a wholely independent buff from the final Getsuga? Or was it like the Quincy power, and put him on a time limit to use the ability before it ran out?

He became his Zampakuto, like the Getsuga Tensho, his power is compress and released in a single attack. Edit-> Its probably like how in Early DBZ when Goku and Piccolo's power rise greatly when doing their special attacks

Well, for one, Quincy Zangetsu wasn't suppressing Hollow Zangetsu anymore when they fused into one, so Ichigo did get a massive boost in power from just that. But also, he did spend 3 months training against an opponent that, by Ichigo's own admission, could have easily smoked him instantly if he wanted, so his power was likely to increase as he'd likely have closed a lot of that gap. Then, after the training, Merged Zangetsu and Ichigo fused in a way, with Zangetsu giving the newly powered Ichigo his full support, albeit reluctantly, to grant him an immense boost on top of the training he did. So that's what I figure "Dangai Ichigo" to be. Getsuga Tensho, as established, absorbs a small fraction of Ichigo's power and highly compresses it, increasing it's potency, then fires it off the end of his blade, causing it to explode with more power than was absorbed from Ichigo. Mugetsu takes that to the extreme, and absorbs all of his power, does the same compression, and then fires it in the same way. But due to the fact that it takes all of his power, instead of a small fraction, the output is on another level.

Everytime i hear about the state of beeing dangai ichigo is and beeing compared to aizens state, i always think that aizen goes through all stages one at a time starting from shinigami over the hollow phase ( which is comparable to the other vaizards but his soul is merging with the hollow) and with ichigo its more like his natural state of beeing ... his soul contains all the parts ( hollow, human, quincy, and shinigami) so fusing with zangestsu means atainig the same or close a level to the soul king ... so its natural to asume that the beeing aizen is to that point is one or two steps behind ichigo, therefore he cannot sense ichigo. i think the butterfly aizen was a failed attempt to merge the shinigami with the hollow (like ichigos vasto lorde). therefore he needed himself to be stoped to devolve and can evolve properly ... kinda like ichigo said aizen wanted to be stoped .... otherwise these words dont make any sense to me. dont know if this is some new thoughts but i leave them here to think about.

Aizen wanted to lose, he felt "lonely" as Ichigo puts it. Seeing himself as the Top and Ichigo was the only one that can put down from being the top. Subconsciously of course.

Ichigo is the perfect agent to possess great power. he knows what it is like to be helpless. he has no ambition for the hierarchy of soul society. He does not fall into the system and tradition soul society is ingrained with allowing him to do what is right despite the hang ups other shinigami . Lastly his sacrifice is one of growth and understanding, he knows and accepts the cost of his sacrifice , once reaching the apex of power he knows it must be short lived seeing how the power is easily corruptible. For him it is a means to an end. Much like his father he sacrificed his powers for the ones he loved. A nice bit of cemetery. All in all we know ultimately this may not be the end but if it is it would be a fitting one.
