I'm from Bangladesh. People may feel sympathy for what happened to her without knowing the full story, so I'm writing here some facts that happened in just the last 2 weeks of the brutal reign of Sheikh Hasina: 1. There have been more than 486 documented killings till now; at least 109 people have been shot dead, even on her last day (5 August). 2. Some estimates say that more than 1000 people are killed, most of them students. 3. 40,000+ wounded. 4. More than 15,000 people have been arrested, and hundreds more are arrested every day. 5. The government imposed nationwide curfews. 6. The whole nation was blocked from the internet for more than a week. 7. Facebook, WhatsApp, and other social networks were blocked for more than 2 weeks to suppress freedom of speech. 8. People were killed in protest by direct fire from a helicopter. 9. The police and Border Guard Force are directly involved in killing unarmed students. 10. She ordered the law enforcement force to kill thousands more people on her last day of power, but the Army didn't agree with this brutal decision. THESE ARE THE LIST OF ONLY 2 WEEKS OF BRUTALITY. SHE RULED BANGLADESH WITH TERROR LIKE THIS FOR THE LAST 15 YEARS.

I am not from Bangladesh, but you assume everyone should believe you thinking you hold all the cards and the facts. Why? What gives credence to you or other propagandists? You make it sound like Hasina woke up and randomly decided to shoot people like a butcher psychopath. There are both sides to the story. The fact that after looting and vandalism a Western puppet like Yunus has been installed sheds further doubt. Your allegations could be fair and taken on blind faith. But extrajudicial killings have been taking place for a long time. How come no protest than other than some relatively trivial matter of quoata of "Muktijoddhas"? It seems more like a strategic coup than anything. I am not taking sides. I am sure Hasina's administration was corrupt and she got what she deserved but your post has the energy of: "Bible is true because it says so." Or substitute your favorite book for that matter like Koran.

Sheikh Hasina is a hated name in Bangladesh. For the past 15 years, hasina run the country like a dictator without giving the opportunity to vote. "My father made the country independent, so I have the right to do whatever I wants", "I am feeding 180 million people of this country", "If anyone overdoes it, I will cut off his electricity... bla bla", the ears are filled with arrogance. She thought of the citizens of Bangladesh as her slaves. The biggest thing is that her people have stolen millions of doller/Taka from the country. "This is my father's wealth, Looting wealth is legal for me". The country is full of corruption. The government has fudged all the questions of government jobs by giving the party student wings name "Chhatra League" (better known as 'Dog League' to the common students of Bangladesh) to fill government jobs with its own party people.Those Bangladeshi boys and girls are now 33 years old, they could not even vote for this power-hungry dictator. She used all the state institutions as her party institutions. If any citizen of Bangladesh spoke about his misdeeds, She was booked in jail and remanded. An impartial survey will show that 95% of the people of Bangladesh hate Sheikh Hasina for her long 15 years of misdeeds. From today we are all free. We got a second taste of freedom. We don't want any more family system in Bangladesh. Awami League, BNP none. The youth brought independence to the country for the 2nd time by freeing it from the hands of this dictator. Dr. Yunus is the pride of our beloved Bangladesh. Our country is safe in his hands. Best of Dr. Yunus sir.

5:35 Your correspondent made one mistake that I couldn't ignore. We don't dislike India because it "didn't do enough to stop these atrocities". We doslike India for enabling and supporting these atrocities and ensuring that the international community took no steps against Hasina, because they would always receive incommensurate deals in their favor in return. India is complicit in the crimes of Hasina.
@muramatafamily65212 ай бұрын
Absolutely correct. India had ensured Hasina remains in power in spite of her rigging the election.

India doesn't face issues like Bangladesh and Pakistan. There's a good amount of freedom for an average person. The ruling party barely got elected; the opposition isn't too weak either. India's issues are a bit different - youth unemployment, corruption, crony capitalism and all.

Go to Transparent Voting where all votes are listed publically along with the identification of the voter. This will END voter fraud and allow referendum votes to be conducted quickly and also online from smart phones. And make all education FREE and UNLIMITED. If Bangladesh has insufficient jobs, they can export PROFESSIONALS!

Waiting eagerly for new Bangladesh under the leadership of Dr. Yunus. He is our gem. Thank you very much to DW channel for being with us during the crisis moments❤

Dear Dr. Muhammad Yunus, I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to you as a concerned citizen of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, inspired by your remarkable contributions to microfinance and your Nobel laureate distinction. In light of recent events following the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, our nation is experiencing both upheaval and the potential for a renewed era of prosperity characterized by accountability and transparency. While it is understandable that emotions are running high, the violence and destruction of monuments, architecture, and statues dedicated to the Liberation War and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman are deeply troubling. Your judicial harassment under the previous administration has undoubtedly fueled anger towards the former Prime Minister. However, it is crucial that this anger does not tarnish your reputation as a leader and potential head of the interim government. We, the people of Bangladesh, are looking forward to a new chapter free from corruption and filled with responsibility and integrity. As part of this mindset, I urge you to take decisive steps to restore the damaged monuments and structures of Bangabandhu and others that honor our rich history and the sacrifices made during the Liberation War. It is essential to move beyond political discord and work towards unity and healing. By doing so, you can demonstrate the leadership and moral integrity that Bangladesh needs in these trying times. Sincerely, Tasin Mahdi, A concerned citizen of the People's Republic of Bangladesh

Hi everyone, just to add to all the positive messages, this is a huge opportunity for all our people to stand together from all faiths .Let's make this work , we definitely need Dr Yunus to guide the young, to end corruption and discrimination, and to bring integrity, compassion to all of Bangladesh 🇧🇩

There has been a revolution in Bangladesh where the legacy and every symbol of Indian agent Sheikh Mujibur Rahman has been destroyed with hammers, bulldozers and cranes. The Bengali people knew his truth very well and now this is Mujib's Bangladesh anymore but a restoration of East Pakistan of Bangla people
