The biggesr strength of Silva is his composure. No matter where he is .. he always makes the right decision. His ability to play a pass while making intercpetions is out of the world. Most defenders would just kick anywhere or as hard as they can away, but Silva knows what to do, so that the opponent doesnt get the ball again and chelsea can start its counter attack

One thing about Thiago Silva other than his "effortless" ground battle is his aerial prowess. If you look at him, he is not necessarily the biggest CB out there compared to many others like VVD, Varane, Ramos, etc. But damn does he win his aerial battle for fun? He may not be that tall, but he _knows_ how to jump higher and stay midair longer than his opponents.
