She has often said that being addicted to food is not the same as being an an alcoholic because "everyone has to eat." It's not. Everyone has to eat, they just don't have to eat junk food. Everyone has to drink, but they don't have to drink alcohol. I actually got blocked for making that comment on one of her videos. There's a reason why the 12 steps for AA and OA are exactly the same.

It’s a superpower developed by some people in advanced stages of addiction, and certain personality disorders. I would imagine we are likely dealing with an entanglement of both addiction and personality disorders- but I am in no way qualified to say this. There is usually a tiny kernel of self awareness buried deep down in there, but it’s a short-term self preservation tactic to be able to fully bury and ignore that tiny inner voice of self awareness. It’s very very painful to try to excavate and revive it, so best leave it buried down deep where it can’t cause any disruption to the status quo. Eventually people can pretty much snuff it out altogether, at least until they conclude themselves.

She always says that the meal she's currently eating is "my first meal". All she does is sleep and eat. Whenever she wakes up, she considers it a new day, and the first thing she does is order food, so every meal is technically her first. Her sleep schedule is so messed up, she'll tell us that she just woke up and it's 6am, or 5pm, or 1 in the morning. I'm always confused as to just which day it is for her.

She was counting calories for a while, but I think there were calories that she didn't add to her daily total because she's bad at keeping track and remembering everything she's eaten, or because she doesn't think they count. The other day, after she was nibbling and snacking during her grocery haul, she said that she was hungry and needed a meal, as if all the calories she consumed while snacking (over 1300) didn't count. It's crazy that we saw her nibble her way through about as many calories as I have in a day (1200-1500).😳😳

Every day perpetually eating junk when you 'crave it' & always thinking about eating. Only sleeping when your body screams "I can't process any more sugar & carbs, you need to sleep", no stamina to even sit up in a chair for long periods. Never moving from one room, never having any interests beyond food, never educating yourself or bettering & expanding your mind, but being concerned with minutiae of what people might be saying about you. I’m pretty much housebound, even bed bound at times, while I wait for a bunch of surgeries. And even so, I think I’m busier than Chantal. I cook a lot, learned to make really good bread, created a huge deck garden over the summer, have a ton of houseplants that I haven’t killed yet, and then occupied myself with online classes, books, and a bit of social media. I also became really good friends with my elderly neighbor, and we’ve had some really lovely times together. Chantal is more mobile than I am, yet all she does is flop herself on her bed or sofa, eat lots of low quality food, and obsess over what strangers think about her online. If she weren’t such a nasty person, I’d feel bad for her isolation and social anxiety, but she refuses to change or get help. I do feel bad for Julia and Harry, though, because I believe they are terribly neglected.

I adored her 😊She would bring out a platter of donuts, etc to show just how much sugar they drank and what it equaled to eating in sweets. Was a very interesting show. It also showed me how many people don't register when they pick at things it's still eating. Like when Chantal eats her groceries while showing them and eats an entire meal of calories doing just that. She really can't register what she just ate.

Many of the local restaurants that cook traditional food offer her protein and vegetables. Which is, along with healthy fat, be what she should be focusing on. Add in appropriate amounts of legumes and starches. A diabetic diet is NOT a low carb diet. She already knows what she has to do, and she won't do that. Until she does, nothing will change.

Yum a family pack of oreos! We don't have Hardee's here but we do have Carl's Jr basically the same thing. That is a treat once or twice a year type of meal. I don't know what they put in the meals, but their app suggests around about 3,000 calories for a meal with a regular Coke. Even swapping for diet it's probably still 2,000 cals on average. That is over her entire day's worth of calories she ate in about 15 minutes. Was it really worth it?

Also, even if the Hardee’s is a couple blocks away, it’s probably not drivable in a direct route so it ends up seeming like a long way. Like…I think they can only turn right out of their place and if there is no through roads she’s have to take four roundabouts like she described to get somewhere that is actually relatively close to her home.
