Random thought, just thinking out loud - I don't do art or anything related so no idea if it would work. But could possibly make a filter like in snap cam for a model to sit on your head/shoulder. Like snapchat, insta etc filters can tell where your face is, and some have wings, tails, etc. So Im sure whatever technology is used for filters, would work to add a model to the shoulder and/or head. I'd assume it would be 2D and probably not highly controllable. It could work as a starting point though which should most likely be cheaper than rigging a whole vtuber model?
