Why too much Buddha influences are seen in this Mukteshwar temple? Was it originally a Buddha temple before the invasion of Eastern Ganga dynasty from Karnataka?
@travelling_throughout_india3 жыл бұрын
No. This Temple was never a Buddhist Temple. It was founded as a Hindu Temple. But as you know that the impact of rule of Samrat Ashoka was heavy in this part of the world, you may find some features of Buddhism in these temples. Apart from that you can find all the features of Hinduism. Mainly Stupa style of architecture is found in case of Buddhism. But this is not Stupa. This is Nagara Style of Hindu Temple Architecture where you can find Hindu Mythology characters in wall, Sikhara as top of the temple and a Jaganmohana (assembly Hall) to pray.
