I am not sure if you are right a boy Nirriti is not Jyeshta. In mahabvidya she is Dhumavati and also elder sister of Lakshmi. It is not easy to combine and compare but for me they are same.

luda glava luda glava I think there is some confusion. I do not believe I have said that Nirrta is Jyeshtha, masculine form of Nitrti is Nirrta which is a name for Rudra so that would be Ardra. I have already posted a comment for that slip of tongue earlier. Also the mention of jyestha is just to bring out the fact that Jyeshtha/alaxmi , the elder sister of laxmi is not the same as nirrti. In my opinion, mahavidya describes features that imply that Dhumvati could be an assimilated goddess arising out of all three nirrti, jyeshtha and alaxmi ( if one considers jyeshtha and alaxmi as separate) However, the most striking difference between Dhumvati and Jyeshtha is that Dhumvati is portrayed as a widow whereas jyeshtha is said to be married with tilaka and braided hair. There is no mention of nirrti and alaxmi being widows. Dhumvati is also said to be old, grandmother goddess who is withered, wrinkled, crooked teeth etc. So there are similarities but also striking differences but surely nirrti is not Dhumvati and I don’t believe that Dhumvati is Jyestha or alaxmi either as the former is widow and later is not. Hope that clarifies any confusion. Thank you 🙏🏻

Alay Patel I don’t know why you felt the need to edit your comment! I read the whole thing. And I will say two things in response. First and foremost, why does one feel the need to ‘fear’ ANY nakshatra? Where did this myth of fearing or favouring a nakshatra comes ? I do not recall seeing this in any of the ancient scriptures that enlighten us on the subject. Also , in my opinion it is not the planets and nakshatras we fear, our fear comes from the demons we hold inside us . And secondly , if one should really fear nakshatras , I am not sure why the world worships Bajrang Bali or why Dalai Lama has followers all over the world or why Srila Prabhupada gave away everything to just preach Krishna all around the world! Maybe we should all focus on fearing what we carry inside us rather on what is outside us. Hope that answers your sarcasm on the subject!
