Mulberry Handbag Unboxing | Should I Keep it?

I finally caved and bought a bag that I had wanted 10 years ago. It was before I could afford it but now that I can and it is re-released I grabbed it. However, I am having trouble deciding if it is something that I should keep because while I like this style of bag, I don't know if it is also because of nostalgia. Did you also have a crush on this bag when it came out the first time?

I got this same bag in chalk color and love using it. It’s so easy to match with different outfits and getting your items in and out is easy. I hope you enjoy using yours.

The chalk color would definitely go with so many things! I was worried about getting in and out of the bag. Do you use an organizer?

@@angeleyn yes I used Samorga organizer the LV Alma BB fits perfectly to keep the bag from sagging. Hope this helps!

I have the first generation Alexa. The quality after all these years is still sublime. The updated Alexa is quite cute.

I think this updated version looks much more better than the original Alexa. I love this mini size too. I would say keep it if you know you’ll use it/enjoy it. From the excitement you had when you opened it, i think it’s worth keeping!🥳🎉

So glad Mulberry is having a resurgence. I adore the brand and own a few bags and SLG's from them. The quality for the money is unbeatable! Definitely a luxury brand that doesn't get enough limelight.

@@angeleyn I agree! Their leather is amazing! I actually have four Mulberry bags! All are in the new leather which I prefer. I have a Bayswater, small zipped bayswater, mini zipped bayswater, and bayswater with flap!

I’m in the same boat! I’ve always wanted one in high school but obviously couldn’t afford it back then. Now I’m seriously thinking about getting this because it’s so cute and such a huge throwback to the good old teenage years! 🤣💕

Their leathers are so exquisite and definitely last a long time. Just worried about the leather softening and making the closure harder to use. Decision!

It is a beautiful bag. I did not have any interest in it the first time around, but I do like the mini now. I like it a lot!!!!! I would keep the bag, it seems to meet all your needs and it's a great looking bag. Don't overthink this.

I actually like this alexa bag when I saw it few months ago but I have my other wishlist bags that I want to tick first.. The colour is beautiful and I could see that it aged well judging from the older style of alexa bags. if you love it and find that it complete your closet, I vote to keep it.. 💗

Hello from Malaysia! I love Mulberry! It is a smaller brand but the craftsmanship and material to me... they're just top notch like Hermès. I own 7 Mulberry bags in two years hahaha! They're addictive!

I am torn... it looks gorgeous. Love the color and the leather, but concerned about the difficulty with the clasp. Try it with an organizer before deciding.

Have you had any trouble with the turnlock magnet closure?

It is a little annoying, but I usually just close it with the magnets on the straps, they are strong enough to stop the bag coming open xx

Just an FYI, Mulberry ships their bags just like you received yours and do not come in boxes. SLGs do come in boxes. It’s a gorgeous bag. I would love to have one but I think the magnets/turn lock combo would annoy me when getting in the bag. I say keep it if that doesn’t bother you. After some use you may not even notice.

Thank you so much for the info! I had no idea that their bags don't come with boxes. I had a baywater clutch and that had a box, but I suppose that is considered an SLG. You make a good point - the lock combo might annoy me. I need to find an organizer and try it out a few more time first.

I like Mulberry bags, but the Alexa (any size) is so hard to get in/out of! An organizer will make it easier and also help keep its shape, but overall the bag is just not convenient.

Good point, Jen. I have been putting it on in front of the mirror and had a mix of easy and hard open/close experience. It really depends if there is something in it to hope its shape. Gotta hunt for a organizer!

Personally, I love the bag - it gives me a vintage vibe that's easily wearable (I'm a suckered for satchels like that). I say give it a 2 week period, if you either don't reach for it enough, baby it too much because of potential slouching, or just don't really like it, go ahead and return it. So long as you give it a shot that's all that matters

I love mini Alexa in this Chestnut color. I wished it’s made in England than MIC. My other Mulberry’s tags were shown inside the bag in obvious location spelling Made in England. Mini Alexa’s tag is hidden deep inside the inner pocket; impossible to see if not searching for it intentionally. This is just not classy and disappointing act of Mulberry. 😔

I never made the connection about some of their bags being Made in England and the mini alexa made in China. I do wish the brand made their bags all in their country. However, so far, I do think the bag held up nicely. Thanks for sharing that information.

Understand it’s your childhood dream bag but time changed. You need bag that bring the classy side of you and this ....... I live in the Uk and owned more than 10 mulberry bags. They never came with boxes and the quality are very good. I also own a mini blue Alexa, it is one of my favourite bag. The turn lock never bothers me, because it’s very easy to fill up a small bag. I used it non stop for a month especially during lockdown you don’t need to carry a lot and no slouch problem. They have changed the leather which is more structured than old Alexa. I hope you keep it. I also love it so much and consider to get another colour.

Hi Joyce - thanks for your input. I love the color but the style does seem redone. Classic bags does have the tendency to do this but I wonder if this is a classic?
