A mule can do things that a horse can’t. They have more endurance and are more sure footed. A mule won’t go where he doesn’t feel safe. They have a way of thinking for themselves.

You right about the mule. We ride a lot of cross county with them. We get in to a lot of areas I would never take a horse.

@@RussWilson i always heard that mules are safer to ride than horses as mules wont put themselves in danger, i dont know as i never rode either one

Thanks again for all your videos! I know what a mule is but why do you want a mule over a horse? We have a donkey she is great and super friendly but not big enough for me to ride but my kids can ride her though. How do you his feet? Are they more of donkey or horse feet? My dad had a mule when he was a kid. He said he rode the mule all over his parents farm.

Great Question!! I have been riding mules for 40 years. The mule gait is smoother than a horse, They have more endurance, Personality is more like a dog than a horse, and less likely to blow up and get you hurt. They are more donkey footed. The angles are steeper and smaller than a horse. We take our mules all over the state of Pennsylvania camping. We look forward to going to elk county and riding with the Elk. I have a video coming out soon on trimming a donkey. Thanks for Watching!!

He's Beautiful, Mules are an amazing asset in a Human beings life. I have a question with regards to the (Britchen) leather straps on his hind end, they appear to be too snug especially when he finishes extending his back legs while walking? Maybe it prevents him from bucking while he's Training? I feel more comfortable with Trained Mules than Horses... because they're more Trustworthy (smarter/self preservation/not as flighty) once they Trust & connect to their owners. Thank you & any Training would make a good video!!
@RussWilson Жыл бұрын
That's a great question!! The britchen may have been to snug. It took me a while to get it just right. He is the first mule that I used a britchen on. I used cruppers for years. We starting to get into some serious hilly terrain. SO I'm trying to get all the animals switched over. Thanks for Watching!!

Are you familiar with Terry Nichels from OK? He is now retired. If you can get ahold of any of his DVDs, do it; he was one of the best trainers. On day one of a new animal coming into the barn, we start the groundwork. When the groundwork is done right, they should step off as broken. I can't afford just throwing a saddle, getting bucked off, and hurt. I had a good friend who broke horses for a living. He did it cowboy style, throwing the saddle on and riding. Unfortunately, he is no longer with us cause a horse killed him. Thanks For watching!!
