Wow! YOSHI'S. That brings back memories from Berkeley, CA when YOSHI'S was down the street on Claremont and then moved to Jack London Square😍

Truly one of the greats, gone way too soon. Very joyful playing, ala Oscar and others.

This is one of my favorite recordings. Mulgrew performs a magical trick of alternately referring to Wynton Kelly and Herbie Hancock during his solo, but it is pure Mulgrew Miller. It begins with Mulgrew strolling a few choruses with just Derrick Hodge on (unamplified) bass before Karriem Riggens joins on drums,

The double bass upright has original bass sound that is warm and full😍 I've never heard of this pianist but love the song. I'm sure he'd be pleased to know he was compared to virtuoso OSCAR PETERSON😍 RIP gentlemen.

Please excuse the typo. It's Karriem Riggins on drums. (Thanks to Roger for catching that)

Dragony: Mulgrew Where in the world have you been all this while? I didn't know someone like you existed. You are the man.You rule!!!!! By the way, what is Yoshi's. Is it a jazz club? Will somebody tell me more about it?

Unfortunately, Mulgrew passed away in 2013. Yoshi's is a jazz club in Oakland, CA.
