Mullingar is the county town of County Westmeath in Ireland.
Mullingar is the county town of Westmeath and is located in the centre of the county. Several fine limestone lakes surround it, including Loughs Ennel, Owel and Derravaragh. The river Brosna flows through Mullingar.
The cathedral is both the cathedral church of the Diocese of Meath and the principal centre of worship in the catholic parish of Mullingar, including parts of counties Meath and Westmeath.
