I take this opportunity to share with you the short version of the first decade of life of our Monastery. I shall try to gradually share more with you: the Pilgrims' House, the Brothers' House, our ongoing projects and our hopes for the future. Often, when one is caught up with the actual work, it is easy to forget to present this work and its results to the world. When we started, I was all alone; ten years later, we are here because of thousands of people who have supported us during these ten years. This video is for you and for everyone who joined our story later and needs a bit of an update. May God bless us all, dear ones.

Father, as a Catholic I have been under the misimpression that the first Christians in Scotland and Ireland were Catholic monks. I find it very intriguing that they were Orthodox. I guess I show my ignorance and my Catholic prejudices. Not that it really matters. I am not disputing you. I would like to find out more about this subject.

@@mkeenan1955 It's a perfectly understandable confusion, I too was a bit confused about that. When the monks first reached the British isles, there was no separate Roman Catholic church yet. There was only one Orthodox Catholic Apostolic Church, when Saint Ninnian preached to the Picts it was 500 years before the great schism that split the Roman Catholic church from the Eastern churches.

Dear brother, your posts on KZbin have blessed me tremendously. I'm new to yours channel and didn't know till today that you were at Kilninian. I only knew you as an Orthodox monastery on the Isle of Mull. So when I Googled Orthodox monasteries on Mull and found that there are 2 I was quite surprised. The other one looks to be in s modern house type building and is to the south of you by about a 15 mile winding drive or walk. What is your relationship to that monastery?

My God, what a blessing! As a child I always fantasized about the Celtic saints scattered across Ireland, the Hebrides, and Scotland. For a while I was even very into Celtic Christianity. Lo and behold, monks like that do exist now because of your work. What a rich and deep blessing. Your videos and the hope you share have been very influential in my decision to join the Orthodox Church.

Thank you dear Father Seraphim Aldea for your work on this church. It means so very much. My ancestors are from the north of Scotland and Iceland. It seems I am learning many things in your videos now. I am inspired by your ability given by God to continue restoration even through the challenges. All things are possible through Christ. The restoration of building and restoring the faith in God with people who are struggling in this time is both inspiring and uplifting. Thank you for videos! I pray that God continues to give your spirit strength and endurance through the project.

Such a great and unexpected treat to see this today Fr Seraphim, thank you! You have done an incredible job to achieve so much in the face of a natural disaster and what a huge responsibility our Lord entrusted you with. You and your supporters have done so well. What breathtaking beauty all around but more beautiful than that is the enthusiasm, love and commitment you have for your blessed work there. May the Lord God continue to work alongside you in supporting and blessing all that you do in His name and for His flock. Amen.

Peace.....God reward you for this wonderful tour of Kilninian! So glad to learn about it all. I feel so much closer to the Monastery when I see the pictures and a tour such as this one - beautiful and so spiritually uplifting. The first thing I thought when I saw St Ninian's Well, is that we could use some bottled water for a keepsake and better yet if possible, a short yearly prayer service at St Ninian's Well like you did today blessing us all. I plan on reading about St Ninian today! Fr, my journey has taken me through Catholicism to return home to Orthodoxy and it is nothing short of Truth and blessings! Your calling and work is touching many hearts and even though far away, we are living it with you.....God bless & take care - enjoying my new books immensely! I will pray a Celtic Blessing for you and the community today from Canada.

That's a miracle. About 8 years ago I read a book about all the Saints of the early centuries. In G. Britain, Scotland, Wales, Irland, and all the blessed places there, and I feel very happy to hear that Orthodox Christianity is born again in the live of this Earth where all these Saints lived and died for the love of Jesus. Glory to the Lord. Δόξα τω Θεώ.

Father, why don't you make a system for collecting water from the source? Can it be made portable, installed at night so that a tank can be recruited, which can also be made mobile if it cannot be installed permanently? This would be important for the parishioners too. In Russia, the presence of a source at a temple / monastery where you can draw water significantly increases the number of pilgrims. The water source is an important symbol of the spiritual source, which is the monastery

Feel free to visit Kilninian and St Ninian's Well (follow the path behind the Church); we are all at Oran na Mara, so you'll have the place entirely to yourself. God willing, there will be another opportunity for us to meet in the future.

@mullmonastery: At 11:11 mins you are showing the flaked paint from the re-plastering which was done a few years ago. I don't want to undermine your decorator's work, but this shouldn't be happening to the paint if the plaster had been left to dry until it was bone dry before decorating. If the paint is scraped-off and the bare plaster is left long enough and repainted it will be ok. It's frustrating I know Father, but it's something I know about from experience. Thanks

1 Timothy 4:1-5 “ Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons, through the insincerity of liars whose consciences are seared, who forbid marriage and require abstinence from foods that God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. For everything by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, for it is made holy by the word of God and prayer. “ Bless you and pray for me.❤

Dear Fr I saw your video about the church and your damp problems. The ongoing problems could be mostly due to you dehumidifier now. Your church appears to be of an age when damp courses were not a feature of this construction . This type of property has rising damp and this will rise to the Hight of a mtr above the highest ground level inside or out. Conventional gypsum plasters do not work in this situation The moister in this situation evaporates off Lime mortar plasters are best and vinyl type emulsions trap the moister in the wall and it will rise even higher up the wall and your dehumidifier will pull it out bringing he Emulsion of the wal.l Is your wood shrinking ?? Google lime mortar walls. Best regards and prayrs Jim

the previous annihilation was via the Roman Empire invasion out of Gaul, the druid priest orders were suppressed by those Roman's government under the 1st century CE emperors Tiberius and Claudius, and further disappeared from the written records by the 2nd century - complete annihilation / genocide that did continue with many such peoples exiled away from what we are all familiar with such prejudice types of extremes ...
