Heard about this. Sounds pretty amazing, do they know how much the videolinks will be? I think that might be there big selling point or downfall. £999 for the main thing is good BUT if the videolinks are another £999 then I can't see people using it. I want prices! I want one.

Currently SlingStudio supports connecting to internet via Wi-Fi or Ethernet. It does not support bonding but can work with any external bonded solutions. Yes the footage including ISOs, program and quad-view are all saved in MP4 format on hard drive and can be edited on imovie.

This looks like a great setup for live streaming. I've done a webinar and the biggest worry is tech fail. But this looks like it takes care of all that. I'm looking to do live feed, multi-factor stuff and this product has arrived right when I needed it. query: is there an android app for tablet for this not using Apple ecosystem?

Currently Console app (that acts as controller) only works on iPad. It can work on iPad Air2, iPad Mini 4, iPad Pro and new iPad (announced in last few weeks). There is also Capture App that can convert any of your smartphone as camera source. This Capture App is available on both Android phones and iPhones.

This is awesome. But it will be nice if we are be able to do simultaneous streaming on Facebook and KZbin with Sling Studio. I am thinking that if we plug a Digital AV or VGA adapter on our apple device, connect it via Ultrastudio Mini Recorder, and then into our Mac book which we would have already had Wirecast installed. Then through Wirecast we can do simultaneous streaming to Facebook and KZbin. Would this work? Please reply.

There are few options: 1) You can send live switched program video of HDMI output of SlingStudio via Ultrastudio Mini recorder into PC/Macbook and use any PC/MAC software to simultaneous broadcast. 2) "Custom RTMP" support on SlingStudio would be available very soon that would allow you to stream to services like restream.io that can do simultaneous streaming to FB and YT. 3) You can do combination of above 1) and 2) where 1) is used to send one of platforms say YT and 2) workflow could be used to send to another platform say FB.

This device is self-sufficient for live-to-tape or post-production workflows. This does not require external internet connectivity for these workflows. You need internet only if you are live broadcasting to say youtube or facebook. You can record all your videos (ISOs, program, quad-view and audio line in) on USB flash drive and import all the recordings into SlingStudio provided Adobe Premier Pro plugin tool. With this plugin tool, all edits/transitions/split views that you used during your live production would be available on Adobe Premier timeline saving hours in post production.

If this was used in a church could you explain if this product can be used effectively more specifically with certain internet speeds? Some churches have to use business internet speeds which is often slower that higher sopesa used in homes. For example if you connect two or three cameras to the sling using the wireless connection will it work with the wifi speeds that Att uverse that provides 18Mgps or what is the minimal speed that's needed in order to take full advantage of this system? Thanks!

It is recommended to have minimum of 4Mbps upload speed for internet connectivity. SlingStudio has the option to connect either wirelessly or through wired Ethernet connection to Internet.

We can connect to internet via WiFi or Ethernet. At this time, we can't bind two 4g cards together but can work with any external bonded solution.

Is that output feed can be the livefeed as seen in the ipad for youtube & fb live, other than quad-cam monitor? Live feed for KZbin/FB live goes through wireless or wired Ethernet connection to Internet. This can be done simultaneously while you output over HDMI to local monitor/display etc.

Trying to wrap my head around doing home AND AWAY high school football games (can't rely on different towns/fields providing me internet and can't pre-run cables carefully enough so they're 100% safe) It's either this lesser powerful/ not too flexible with graphics and preexisting commercials program and no cable runs because of hotspot... or... an awesome powerful program with preexisting content cued up but long cable runs and a separate hotspot... or am I missing a better way?? I don't think anything does that yet it would have to access multiple API's at the same time and keep video quality high. That's going to take quite a bit of programming work if you think about it, but damn that'll be a great money maker when someone makes it.

It needs internet for live streaming. If you are just doing live to tape production, it does not need any internet. The hub acts as private hotspot that all cameras + iPad connects to.

Hello, i want to setup two camera links , one camera with hdmi directly into sling studio hub, and one external line in mic for audio, will there be any sync issues between, camera link connected cameras and line in mic? i want to live stream, and its a local dance show, so it is not acceptable that line in audio and camera link video is out of sync, if there is any delay its okay, but audio and video should be in sync, guys please help me

SlingStudio does not natively support streaming to Twitch. It supports Facebook and KZbin Live streaming today. Plan is to add support for other streaming services like Twitch, custom RTMP, etc via software update (no new hardware needed). You can also use HDMI output port on SlingStudio to stream program output to other services using separate encoder.

Check out www.myslingstudio.com/compatibility page that shows list of currently tested devices. If the device is not on supported list, quick test would be to check if camera can output "clean HDMI" signal when connected to TV/display. If it does, it should mostly work with SlingStudio.
