I adore Ottmar Leibert. So cool I got to hear about his life today. Black Moon is an awesome name for a band. King 5, thanks so much for posting this interview. ♥.

Ottmar will be here in Tucson, AZ. 2024. I went last year as well. It's such a rich, tasty, soothing show with just a bass player and a percussionist who play perfectly. I highly recommend a show from Ottmar and Luna Negra. Just sit back and breathe.

Wow, I've listened to him for decades, but never heard him talk. Always thought he'd have a strong accent, probably Spanish. Really stange.

He did have a slight German accent in his first english tv interviews back 30 years ago

This is a short but very rich interview. It shows how deep Mr. Liebert is.

Hey ottmar what happened to the experimental side of you? Did you find the money vein on the way?
@DrussQuinn3 жыл бұрын
He has some brilliant music but over the last few years guys music is stagnate and unimaginative

what the hell was that solo about ?!? complete bull crap ..... he used to play some good pieces but what happened to him and thats sooooooo not flamenco
@merarts6 жыл бұрын
It could be called a medley - a blending of styles and songs that he has created, like a sampler for those who don't know him!
@sepehr-di6rx6 жыл бұрын
it dosent have any musicality you cant feel the rhythm and he messes up some parts and he goes off the rhythm maybe if he had a 2nd guitar to play a rhythm for him it would be better but u cant connect to it ... listen to his older works like Barcelona nights its beautiful but his latest works ...
@chiquilomiticasuperr4 жыл бұрын
he never really played flamenco! it's he's own style!!

One of his early albums is named "Nouveau Flamenco". That's it, I think.

Reminds me of a slower version of overrated Manitas De Plata. For beautiful flamenco Paco De Lucia is the one, genius and musical. This guy is the Walmart version, or vanilla version of flamenco. Shite!

His many recording have beautiful falsettas or compositions if you prefer. He never claimed to be a player of pure flamenco and despite all the expert flamenco experts, the world in general probably prefers flamenco nouveau for mood music. And the world has voted - the vast majority prefer flamenco nouveau over Sabicas, Nino Ricardo, Diego Gastor and probably even Paco de Lucia as listening music albeit probably not in performance. I get the criticism, but like it or not the man has been successful for a reason.
