MULTI SPECIES at Labrador Park! Beginner Friendly Bait Fishing

Hi, I fish at bedok jetty using a similar technique and setup, with prawn bits as bait too. I attract the same size of fish as seen in this video, but i face the problem that 9 times out of 10, the fish manages to steal the bait off my line without getting hooked. One difference i noticed is that i keep my prawn bits wet (believing that this preserves freshness and thus improves attractiveness to the fish), but the wet prawn bits are very soft - could this have made my bait too soft and easy to steal?

Do you feel the fishes biting before the bait goes missing? If yes, it might be that the bait is too big so the fish manages to bite the bait without biting the hook. If you don't feel the fishes nimbling, it could be that the bait is too soft and drops off while the line is sinking to the bottom.
