Back in the day (1977) fishing west of CLE . We called the White Bass a "Lunker " or a "Slab " . That 1st one was a Slab . Thanks for reminding me of my memories .

Pops turned into a fishing legend in just a few outings lol. I was down in the river Monday and caught the same species you did- smallies and tons of silvers. I’m hoping for one or two more Lakers before the window closes!

I’ve been there once fishing at devils whirlpool three walks ago - no luck , going back this weekend to fish near Queenston boat launch . Was thinking of bottom bouncing three way rigs from the kayak , is it possible to do down river ? I’m Having a hard time finding spots.
@OutsidersOutdoorCo
@OutsidersOutdoorCo 2 жыл бұрын
I'm not to familiar with to many spots down river but I know Fort Niagara has a boat launch, there's probably less current down there so it could be easier to fish. And the bottom bouncing will work, that how pretty much everyone who has a boat fishes the river

Hi thanks for your reply when I asked what country you are in Canada or the States , Do you know if Michigan New York states and Ontario have the same regulations on that river for all species ? , In British Columbia and Washington state even though we are right beside each other and the same ocean species we have differ regulations, for example In Washington state they can only catch Crabs for a certain time but for us in British Columbia we can Crab year round
@OutsidersOutdoorCo
@OutsidersOutdoorCo 2 жыл бұрын
The regulations are similar but not the exact same, for example in NY lake trout season opens on December 1st and in Canada it opens January 1st. The differences are small but important. It is weird that the same river can have different regulations...

@@OutsidersOutdoorCo The same out here , Vancouver’s suburbs go right to the Washington state border, yet crab retention,size and when you can crab is different , there was a time we could only use single barbless hooks for salmon in the ocean but Washington state could use treble hooks with barbs , but They changed that to the same rules as us, Thank you for the info ,

What are the string balls on the end of your poles? Never seen them before
@OutsidersOutdoorCo
@OutsidersOutdoorCo 3 жыл бұрын
They're called rod huggers, basically when you break your pole down it holds the pieces together so it's easier to transport👍

Not to sound like mother hen, but Y’all should have wader belts on in the event you go in. (Ofcourse that’s not the plan….but it’ll keep you from sinking -faster-) Love the vids. Stay safe Go BILLS! 🦬

I often use a shrimp fly tied 4ft above my spinner. Many times I get 2 sea bass at the same time. Beat so far was 16 lb 2 oz on fly, with 9 lb 7 on the spinner. Luckily didn't snap off. £5 per 1 lb in the local restaurant for rod caught. Best day I got £425
