Awesome video mate ripper yellowbelly I’d love to catch one , are yellowbelly any good eating ? Or better just for fun . Nice little river good selection of fish in there .
@RKJFishing5 жыл бұрын
Hi James thanks so much mate! Yellowbelly are absolutely delicious to eat if you catch them at the right size, I reckon 35cm-45cm is perfect. The one I caught in this video would have been quite fatty and not as good in flavour. Having said that, I still prefer to release most of the yellas I catch anyway just to help sustain the population, and redfin taste slightly better anyway in my opinion hehe
@jamesdrakos72565 жыл бұрын
I wouldn’t mind trying one one day but yeah I’d most likely release them and enjoy them twice or another angler can enjoy I haven’t caught Redfin either, so I need to find some waters and wet a line

Mate i enjoy your videos. What kind of worms are those that carp find so tasty. Yes ive caught carp on night crawlers, but very few. Last one i caught on worm i was trying out a rod i had put a new tip on and replaced the first guide. When i got the hit i thought it was a catfish until it made its first run, stressed tested my rod fix. When i target carp i use corn or bread. Do you have catfish where you are at? I haven't seen all your vids so i don't know. Back to original question. Are they just normal night crawlers? If you have to order them , maybe be a good idea to order enough to start you a worm farm.
@RKJFishing5 жыл бұрын
Hi mate they are Jan Juc European night crawlers, easily the biggest and juiciest ones I've seen before. I usually use corn or bread if I'm specifically targeting carp as well. There aren't any catfish in my area but there are some about 100km from where I live but we aren't allowed to target them. I don't mind ordering them they are still cheaper than most worms that I can find locally! Thanks for watching mate.

@AndrewFishman5 жыл бұрын
That first fish might have had a wrap around the body, fin or tail when you first struck him, which might explain why he came up and then was able to get going as the wrap came free. Nice swamp trout. GOtta love technical difficuties and turning cameras off, then getting the strike, and all the other things that go on in a day as a YT fisher. Is it a carp, is a cod, nah, its a stonking great yebblie! She was a lovely fat football. No fear that the yebblies are finding it hard to find a feed down the Campaspe. Great job on the carp that took the wrap around the sticks. Dispelling the theory carp and natives do not live in the same area. Well called on the silver stripper. I would have been guessing maybe small reddies, but we have not gotten silvers in this region for many years. Did you get a measure on the stick? It was not the largest I have seen, but not the smallest either.
@RKJFishing5 жыл бұрын
I thought the same thing about being wrapped up once I was watching the footage back at home, it didn't occur to me at the time! The yellas certainly seem to be big and healthy this year, which I'm hoping means that there is more catch and release fishing going on. I'm getting good at picking when the silvers are around, their bite is a bit different to anything else but it's hard to explain. I forgot to measure the stick fish!!!
