I just bought a 45458B multi hp motor. It seems to be overheating after say 28 minutes. There's not much of a way wire for the different HP, so how does that work? Is it all internally I'd assume?

what is the actual thermal cutoff temperature?

very informative video , I was always wonder to see what amps should i have if runs the motor on medium speed. until now all motor should be checking on high speed !!!! for the corresponding horse power and rpm... good video, i start checking motors having this in mind.

Assuming that the load is matched to the proper h.p. tap, is the multi horsepower motor designed to operate at a fixed rpm?
@packardonline6 жыл бұрын
Yes. If connected for 1/2 HP, and with a 1/2 HP load, it would operate at 1075 RPM. If connected for 1/3 HP, and with a 1/3 HP load, it would operate at 1075 RPM.

@@packardonline So, at each different HPs the currents are also different. Is that correct? If you have wiring diagram of inside of the motors that will be much easier to understand. Thank you

Thank you for your video. I suggest that you post the plate info on your video description or close up view on your video on the info plate of motors.

You didn’t explain RPM for different HP situation!

On our 60/80/100hp motors at work the rpm is the same just the horsepower changes depending on connections.
