A very unusual ending. The revenge is not about just paying back to those whom harmed her and her family nor rising to the top of harem or conquer emperor’s heart. For those who wonder if the emperor is the ML and will redeemed himself the the answer is No, he is a scumbag from the beginning to the end. No 2nd ML as FL love interest as well. At first I thought General Shen was a bit short-sighted, seeking revenge only against Noble Consort Ning. 🤔 Because... how could her family be killed from Noble Consort Ning's order only, what about the king? The support people inside the king's government were the king's power circle... how could the king allow his people to be killed just to please his woman? Doesn't make sense. Is the noble consort more powerful than the king (seems impossible)... or is the king stupid enough to gives his consort a power & allows her to act arbitrarily... or did the king let everything happen, in other words he has his own plan/way of thinking? Everything is answered at the end of the film. The revenge ending was satisfying, but the cruel king died too easily from being stabbed by a knife... 😈 I want to see him suffer before he dies...
