Synopsis:
Cheng Shao Shang is a young girl who was forced to grow up alone after most of her family had to leave to fight in a bloody war. Thus she becomes stubborn and untrusting. She fends for herself in a town populated by people like her, who have been left behind by the war.
One day, a talented and powerfu general named Ling Bu Yi comes to the town - and falls in love with her at first sight. He resolves to marry her, even though it will cause him no end of problems if he decides to pursue this union. I'm just concerned about what HE felt because you know in dramas what are picked from novels or manhua are slightly changed or they show is briefly so I was worried of he liked her in book or something?? Because according to book Shaoshang acts like independent and modern thinking because she time travelled so it might be the scene that he liked third princess when he was kid but I wanted assurance that no he did it out of duty since he saw everything about all those things happened since he came from that city with his aunt so the kid him obviously more concerned about getting evidences and getting stronger rather then lurking around some brat princess ..

You know how he is like, once he put his mind to someone he worked hard to get it, If he had had feelings for the bratty Princess he would have tried to change her just like what he wanted to do with Shaoshang at first before she stood her ground, and remember Shaoshang didn't like him at first yet he made her fall for him. He would have done the same thing for the princess had he liked her, but he just wanted to save her from the King's punishments and be there for her as a brother, she misunderstood him though

Loving the recap...I'm glad that NN is finally able to see the truth/she's ready to fight for her relationship with Buyi. She has the best man by her side...he'll do anything for her...and continue to keep her safe. Buyi is a master of poise...even in his state...he's still able to fight. His self-awareness is a beautiful thing to behold. These men pick the wrong time to invade his world...he's feeling the pain of rejection from NN so he's not going to take any prisoners. He made it perfectly clear that NN is the only woman that can stand by his side. She's a bitter shrew trying to throw her weight around....luckily Buyi showed up when he did...his dismissive attitude towards the 3rd princess is priceless....she never stood a chance. His protective nature of NN kicked in. He's not going to let anyone bully his woman. Seriously she needs to focus on her own marriage instead of being worried about Ling Buyi's love life. I love it...he told her to her face that he's disgusted by her...lol I felt her hatred for NN growing by leaps and bounds...she's not done. The man she's obsessed with just ripped her heart out. He reaffirms that NN is the only woman that he'll ever marry was so touching....NN was so enamored with him that she didn't even notice him holding out his hand. These two are perfect for each other. The sour looks on those women's faces is like the fourth of July/Christmas all wrapped up in one. I'm loving it. I'm loving their conversation...he called her out big time...lol Instead of apologizing for her mistake she's trying to make light of it...but he knows exactly what she's doing. NN showing concern for his injury is a beautiful thing to behold...but she's trying to hide behind the Emperor....lol She's right...she needed time to adjust to a life with him. I love how open and honest he is with her....he doesn't want to change her...he only wants to love her/to protect her....He's steadfast in his love for her...and he's not going to give up on her....the sigh of relief that washed across his face when she told him that she doesn't want to end their engagement was pure gold. The icing on the cake is when he pulled out some bread to give to her....the smile on her face spoke volumes...she's finally seeing his true worth...especially after he reassured her that he's not trying to restrain her...and he would never use his powers for evil...he will only used them to protect her. NN hit the jackpot with Ling Buyi. NN is winning over hearts everywhere she goes...lol The Emperor/Empress is at a loss with her...she's the bright cloud shining through during a raining day. The Empress will be a great mother figure for her...she's exactly what NN needs in her life. The way she smiles when NN is talking pulls at the heartstrings. She's delighted to be the one to teach her. She stood by and watched her mother doing a hatched job on her character...now she gets to teach her. I'm glad the Emperor decided to allow NN to learn at the Empress's feet...she needs a break from her mother's influence. I bet NN is going to excel now that she has the right teacher. I love it...Buyi wasn't going to let her face the royal family alone. The Emperor has a lot of power but when he's dealing with Buyi he tends to yield....lol Buyi knowing/understanding NN's reservations about moving into the palace shows just how much he's n'sync with her. The Emperor didn't miss a beat...he honored Buyi's request with no problem. He's showing how committed he is to his future wife. How could she not fall in love with him? I love it when she said that if she had known that Ling Buyi would take an interest in her...she would've tried harder....lol NN is very bold...she's filing a complaint against Wang Ling with the backing of Ling Buyi. I understand her frustrations dealing with these treacherous women so I get why she felt the need to file a complaint against her...it's time for Wang Ling to pay for her actions...but filing a complaint against the Empress's family member is a dangerous thing. I just hope it works out for her....with NN's nature I think she's using this to figure out the character of the Empress since she'll be learning from her. It's a clever ruse...and an effective way to size up the Empress. If she blocks the punishment/protects the Wang family then NN will be weary of her....but if she upholds justice and allows Wang Ling to be punished...then she's a woman with integrity. It's a brilliant plan either way...NN will have her answer. NN is proving once again that she's the only one that can stand beside General Ling. Wow...now I see why Wang Ling is out of control...her mother thinks that she's entitled because of her father. These so-called noble people need a wake-up call. She's living in the past...and riding the coattails of her father's sacrifice....somebody should've told this woman that the Empress doesn't owe her a thing...the debt has been paid. She's more concerned about her brother's well-being than she is about her daughter. She's willing to sell her daughter to protect her brother. Well I'm guessing she's regretting not knocking before barging in...now she's about to be used as a prop for her uncle's survival. Seriously with a mother like this she doesn't need any enemies. I almost feel bad for her...but she's just as hateful/arrogant as her mother. Her karma is harsh...and it's biting her in the ass right about now. She's just a pawn being used by her mother. These women are treacherous....Wang Ling pathetic little rant about NN looking down on her is laughable....she's the one that's been looking down on NN...and now she's paying the price for her arrogance. The Wang family looking down on NN's status is funny because even with her low status...she managed to have the entire family punished. Madam Wang's arrogance is on a whole new level. She thinks that he family still holds value but their status has long faded away...she's the only one still stuck in the past. But like another commenter wrote he uses his own discomfort (injuries) to get what he wants from the Emperor, who he loves as a father. The Emperor uses their special relationship as “adopted son and father” as leverage too. His soldiers try to read him as a half closed book. Liang Qiu Qi, brother of Liang Qiu Fei, is the best in this. It doesn’t matter if Buyi lies, blackmails or spreads fear and death, his General is always right. It is presented as comical relief, but brother Fei questions his General more. They are the left and right hands of Buyi, but could also be the little devil and angel on his shoulders.
