Am I the only one that NEVER hears these much maligned trucks?
@scishowspace
@scishowspace 9 жыл бұрын
+Kenadian2006 We usually stop filming when the trucks are really loud, so each episode takes a long time to film, and then we do a lot of post-production work to remove the traffic noise so you can't hear it. So that's great that you can't hear it! When the new studio is finished, the end result will be similar to how it is now, but we'll be able to film and edit MORE SciShow in the same amount of time. That's the hope. More science!

I just saw the most beautiful meteor of my life! It was bright blue that had a bright orange sparkly tail. It only lasted a quick second but wow was it bright and vivid. I’ve never seen one that bright and big!

Interesting! I saw a golden meteor streak through the sky last night when I was walking along the beach. It was a decent one too, the apparent size was roughly half that of the nail on my pinkie finger when held at arms length. It broke into a number of pretty golden shards that burned out as they approached the horizon. It all happened in the span of about two seconds but it was still awesome. Good to hear that I'll be seeing more soon!

If you go to the Heavens-Above website you can enter your location and select a day and time and generate a skychart showing where Gemini (and Jupiter) will be in the sky. If you've never used a skychart before, you'll see the W and E appear flipped in the image - you're not supposed to look down on it like a normal map, you hold it above your head and then the N/S/W/E line up.

I once saw a huge meteor fly overhead, and as it flew through the sky it was trailed by a vibrant color. As it flew, it would burst into a bright spot, and the tail's color would change. I think I recall it bursting and changing colors 3-4 times. It was quite spectacular :)

Speaking of bright spots, I've been hoping SciShow would tackle the light show over California on 11/7/2015. Quite a few recordings of it, but I haven't seen an explanation about it yet (hence why I'm turning to Scishow). Any chance you folks could touch on it? If in doubt, just search 'UFO' with the date and you'll find quite a few recordings. Thanks!

You're not in a sound proof studio already? cause i never heard any trucks rolling by during an episode.. However a more logical explanation would be that you guys stop recording or re-record the segments you were working on if there would be noise pollution. If this is the case, than indeed a sound proof studio would decrease production time i guess.

1. Are "the trucks" the cause of your sharp time-editing; I'd thought it was intentional _vitesse_... 2. SIDEBAR NOTE: The color purity of extremely-faster-moving white-head comets proves the speed of light is constant over the color spectrum; something Newton could have recognized with his color-sharp reflector telescope (an improvement over Galileo's glass lens refractor)... (And he'd have thereby, preempted Einstein, with a better estimate of time+length distortion).
