I have got one of these units. The CC does not seem to be working as expected.Suppose I set the voltage to 5V and a max current of 100mA, if I short the output or put a sufficient load ,the output current stays at 60mA.Also the CC LED does not light up.Any suggestions ?? Everything else works as expected.

I use CC on mine for battery charging- it works fine but can be adjusted once. If I adjust it more, then it will give out max current instead-and sometimes will shut down due to overpower. My solution is to switch whole powersupply off when I want other current. Maybe this clitch doesnt happen all the time but I've become used to switching it off when different batteries are connected.

@@vladobac1 Its a unit problem. Many of these units have some issue or another. There are 2 PCBs.The display unit is used for UI and the converter unit takes inputs from the UI and delivers output accordingly. This is fed back to the UI PCB for display only. Hence they have provided a calibration setup, which sometimes can address this issue. I always measure the output with a multimeter to verify the actual values. Hence it is still useable. I use these units for checking newly assembled PCBs for any power related problems. It is super useful for that.

Excellent video. It would be really nice to have a similar video for the zkpp2k and other similar modules, I can't find any. I see plenty of people talking about them, but certainly none in english that cover how to use it, especially to set frequencies of pulses. The whole duty cycle thing confuses the hell out of me.

I plan to use this unit as battery charger. Does it have reverse current protection on its output in case input power source stops? Or do we have to install a blocking diode on ZK-5KX output terminals to protect the unit?

Yes, you may need a diode. There is a resistor inside to discharge the capacitor at the output. It will drain the battery. But if you install a diode, the device will not be able to display the battery voltage.

Your timely reply is much appreciated! Based on your response, I reviewed your authoritative video and noticed that you connected the buck boost unit with no input power (off state) to a Li Ion battery 14:37 with no destructive effects on the ZK 5KX. That was the answer I was looking. Datasheets claim that the output end has anti-reverse current protection, no need for anti-backflow diode. And it's true 😉 As for the capacitor-discharge resistor draining the battery, it can be easily taken care of. Looking forward to more of your well illustrated videos.
